3.6.x here. Love it.
|
Do those people currently not on 3.6 think they will have moved by the start of 2007. If not, why not - what is your reason for sticking with an older version ? - and are you prepared for the fact that coders will not continue to support older versions of mods.
|
All of them!
I'm not joking either, I have currently got a 2.3.10 (needs upgrading again when I have finished the project I'm working on with it), a 3.0.13 (again needs upgrading) and a 3.5.4 (also needs upgrading) all set up as test boards and 2 3.6.2's (might upgrade at some point but knowing my luck it'll be to 3.6.9 or something by the time I get round to it!) as live boards. Why have older versions? Because I like to play with things and I find the whole plugin system, especially now most people even do template mods by plugin, very boring and I like to get my hands dirty and do "proper" coding in both PHP and templates. If I had had vB long enough then I would probably have a 1.x installed as a test board too!!!! |

:cross-eyed: :hurt: !!! I would have a hard time on a vB 2 board |
I love coding for vB2 but there just isnt the demand for it any more so most of it I do just for fun. After all, why bother firing up a 3.6 or 3.5 when I'm in a 2.3 and can do exactly the same thing in that and then just need to convert the code to 3.6 or 3.5 as required?

3.5 In december I will be upgrading to 3.6. I need some old 3.5 hacks ported to 3.6 without them I wouldnt be able to work properly :(
