my host suspended me for using 20% of server resources a couple of times.. i didnt have maybe but a coupld in the games area.... and i couldnt understand what the hell was going on..

There's no need to update the ranking per game played anyways...

Better yet, can you make it a configurable timeframe in the ACP? In other words, each admin can choose the number of seconds between each calculation...

For the time being, can the function call be disabled without upsetting the "normal" usage of the arcade and if so, what code would I look for?

Ok, I just improved the logic and the performance for the league-stuff and it now definitive has much less queries while saving a result :)

I don't use the league at all, and I don't mind editing files to disable it. I have 472 games and score submission takes an age because of this.

score-submission will be quick with v2.5.7+ I just cleaned up that code :)

Any chance of a "patch" of this for those of us on earlier versions for whom upgrading is not currently possible?

this is kinda difficult as alot got changed, concerning the league it was somehow completely solved in another way.

Maybe you wait for v2.5.7+ and then compare all the files using "beyond compare" or any other tool, but best way is to always use the current release :)

I do want to upgrade at some point, it is very hard for me though due to running both arcades on the same forum...I have to update all references to "arcade" and change it to "ibproarcade" so it doesn't clash with v3arcade. On top of that it's quite heavily customised skinwise.

(I should mention, before anyone points it out, that I'm aware there is no technical reason these days to run both arcades as the games interchange, however I like doing it!!)
