I have just started up a new site and wondering once DragonByte SEO has been installed do I need to disable the existing sitemap creation considering it would then no longer be used?

You should disable the existing sitemap generation in vBulletin, yeah :)

Excellent thanks, just to confirm under
Scheduled Tasks > Scheduled Tasks Manager > Generate XML Sitemap

I selected 'Disable', is this correct?

You can turn it off from the vBulletin Options instead, I think disabling the scheduled task will undo it the next time you update vB.
