So now that PhotoPlog seems all but dead for v4, I'm considering any photo gallery that has a migration scripts for PhotoPlog. Has anyone else successfully migrated to UMG from PhotoPlog? How is UMG working out for you?
I've got some concerns about UMG as it has been slow to gather a userbase. I worry that I'm about to turn into a dead end with a huge truck and it's going to be hard to turn around. :o Coroner - Can you provide any reassurance on the future of UMG? What does the development roadmap look like? How committed are you to the product? I'm very close to buying a pro license... any feedback or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks! |

Added a few videos via the manager, but when I looked at it, it was just a thumbnail image, is there anyway to have it videos when I upload them, not just thumbnail

No chance. I've tried to install ffmpeg, but it's too "confused" for me.

How come when I upload a video, and then go to the gallery and click on it, a icon shows up instead of a video, and yes video's are allowed.

I think they are referring to a you tube script that shows users...
Gives credit to those that have uploaded vidoes... Comments are visable like in youtube... Maybe I am wrong but I think that is what they are referring to... I am too looking for a youtube like script... I am a little confused as I really like all the advantages of your engine and I really like all the design aspects of Video Directory Remixed... If you read, I know there are alot of them but if you read the forums in here you would of seen that he recommends TWO ways of showing it in your Skin... The first, He developed a Mod that will do it for you... You can find the mod by clicking his profile and all products done by him are listed in there... Or you can go back to the first few pages of this thread and you will see in there he lists how to do it manually and the link to his Mod... Here is a list of JUST the 3.8 Mods... I have spent more then an hour looking for what to do after I got an Invoice for going pro... I believe and hope that the product is written better then directions or way you have to order the product. Not a negative feedback but it is a challenge to order so I am going to try and make it easier so NOBODY else will have the same frustrations or challenges... I am going to insert some screen shots hopefully as I have not done that before... Is there a better way of uploading pics throughout the doc rather then just at the end with using attachments? If anyone can let me know this off the subject I would appreciate it... I think I am just going to use Photobucket to upload then IMG to insert. In my forum I have many albums created by users with their own images. Can UMG organize these albums (default vbulletin) into categories? Or is there the possibility to import albums in UMG without losing image links in the forum? thanks! |
Not in the LITE. There is an AddOn for the PRO that will create a "album category" (as a private category) for all public user album.

Greetings and sorry for bothering, I've seen that the pro version has photopost import, but will it work also on photopost PRO? (http://www.realdx.com/g/).. basically I'll be able to import in my forum all the photopost work? and also, does this mod has the ability to retrieve images from a given html/php link, and let the user select wich photos insert in the gallery and wich to discard?(like in photopost) Thank you for your time!

Hi. Some questions.
How can delete or edit member categories (and member categories exported from Photoplog with photoplog_2_umg.php)? I don't see any option to do that :S Random Images on mainpage appears only 4 thumbs when in the ACP I've configured it in 10. In personal settings "Show newest Images / Media" doesn't work, always it changes to "no". When a user (not an admin or mod) add a category can select permissions for individual usergroups. Can this be modified or deleted for members? This function for members doesn't make sense.. Thanks :) |

As an Admin/Mod... (see Permissions in AdminCP) you can edit/delete public and/or YOU'RE private categories ! Private categories from others, can only edit my the member itself.
This option is changed only in the pro. There's the abillity, to change those categories from the AdminCP. |
