Database connecting

hello, i have just for the thrd ****ing time made a new forum.... (as you can tel, im not to good at this /; ) im inputting my information into the config.php correctly, ive done it many times... and im still unable to connect...

can i have one of the mods gime a hand?

did you create the database in cpanel?

Well assuming you have cpanel login and click "MySQL Databases" link.
On the next page you see field for the database name
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/
In this field type vbforum (it can be anything though)
Click "Add Db" and when you come to the next screen click the "Go Back" link

Look for
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/
UserName: user123
Password: pass123
(of course you can change the username and password to anything you like.)
Now click the "Add User" button then click the "go back" link

You should see two drop down boxes with a dozen checkboxes (pictured below)
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

Note: you may have a prefix before the database name and username

Our database name is "prefix_vbforum" and our username is "prefix_user123"
On the left drop down menu select "prefix_user123" and on the right select "prefix_vbforum"
Now just click the button named "Add User to Db" and that's it.

Now in the config.php file
$dbusername = 'prefix_user123';
$dbpassword = 'pass123';
$dbname = 'prefix_vbforum';

umm, yeah, i mentioned ive done this a ton of times, i think i rembered to make the mysql database... lol

mysql = 4.0.24_Debian-10-log
Operating system = Debian GNU/Linux
and duh ^^

What is the specific error you're getting? root is the easiest account to test but suicidal to use as the final version (or even testing versions). You can always ask your host to create the database and a user for it which any competent host should be able to do.

hostname should be set to localhost and the rest of the info should match.

ive tryed both localhost and my serevs host name

marco, i know you said no once, but after you help me, oyu can block me.. i just need a bit of help ^^ i can give you any information you need
