One more addition, Please allow the links to have different color. In the Grey ibulletin, the link & normal text cannot be distinguised.
you know that you chan change that in css settings, dont you?

this style works absolutely nicely with vb 3.6.0!!!! :)

1. install the skin
2. revert all changed templates to the vb 3.6.0
3. you also need the buttons attached. copy them into the i-bulletin/buttons folder

4. then copy the following files from the default skin to the i-bulletin folders
misc/redcard_small.gif
misc/yellowcard_small.gif
misc/progress.gif
buttons/redcard.gif
buttons/yellowcard.gif

have fun :)

I like the different colored ones alot. Only problem i got with them is that the boldness of unread topics/posts isnt that clear anymore.
You dont see the difference very well between read and unread topics/posts.

Any place where i can edit that?

If it works perfectly as it is, what is the point of a v3.6 port?

ps. Great skin, thanks a lot!

If I revert the skin to vBulletin 3.6.x - will my custom design (in this case an extra tablefield) still remain?

TIA

if you revert modified templates, the modification is obviously gone ;)

I upgraded my forum to vb 3.6.1 and the thread (posts) are are shrunk leaving some extra space on both sides.

The top part of the forum ( navbar & login panel ) however appears correctly.

How we I fix this?

Ok b6gm6n isn't it better to under-promise and over-deliver? Instead of making absurd promises like "I will be making the update for this skin soon" you should say something like.

"Guyz thanx for the response - I am really not going to do anything on this style before I get some spare time. However, donation might help..."

You could make a buck or two (which you deserve) and people would'nt get their hopes up, expecting an immediate update.

So get working - and remember to set up this paypal account, so that you can get som dollars out of your good efforts

Btw. I like your I-Bulletin style - It's good work!

Oh man! Im sorry to hear that! That's not very motivating! I want to donate, where can I do that?

I've discovered how to get hints to tweak the templates by using the compare-templates functionality in vBulletin. So I'm not stuck and can use your style as a foundation and update it to the newest vBulletin version. However, not being a great artist does not leave high expectations for the quality of my own homebrew multi-quote buttons and such  :D

Anyway I want to donate. I sure hope this new donation integration that came with the new vBulletin.org makeover will help make contributions easier. God luck with the business plans! :)

Oh man, thats right! I didn't notice the paypal icon. Anywayz 10$ should come rolling your way!

It's not that hard to update the I-Bulletin style to 3.6.x as I first thought. The template system in vBulletin is excellent and helps pin-pointing the templates that needs an update. My problem is just the art work... :D

The donation is just a general contribution. So don't feel forced to update the style to 3.6.x - unless you really want to. To all other hobo's reading this thread - Start contributing with either money or coding

what 3.6 features do you mean?...the extra buttons?... tell you what, if you give me a list of the extra buttons needed for 3.6 i'll sort this out...and maybe give me incentive enough to do a complete update rather than the missing buttons...but i may do this just to tide people over :)

Thanks for responding.

The buttons themselves actually aren't the main issue to me, given the PSDs and fonts you included I could just make them myself. The main things to me are the various template revisions and stuff, to activate things like multi-quote, the AJAX rep-giving popup, etc., since I myself don't know much about how to revert/re-code templates like that.

b6gm6n, I just donated $5 to you for the work you put into this classic skin a while back. However, I'm also (like others) still desperately waiting for that 3.6.x update, so I pledge to donate an additional $10 once you finish your full update of the skin. Selfish-seeming, I know, but it seems to be the only way I can try to coax you to get working on iB2, since I'd rather not have to switch to Chestnut or some similar style.

Thanks iRua, very nice... i also want to start this update :D - I will, in fact I'll install on my test rig and start doing the ideas and updates for iB2 this evening, it'll take some time to complete... if there's anything you liked about the skin or really hated then let me know...

Well, since you asked...

The main thing I like a lot about the skin is its simple, "clean" feel, designing with tables, borders, and background shades instead of an over-use of images. It's annoying to me when styles use image buttons as the links in the navbar, because even with the PSD files, it's a pain to add custom links to the bar. Having not too many images also makes the load-time/bandwidth cost easier for both the users and me as an admin. Some other styles do go too far in the opposite direction, making styles so simple and image-less that they're just bland, but yours strikes a very nice median.

There are a few things that could be improved though. The Report and Reputation buttons in the bottom left of each post are a little confusing to new users, as some have clicked the http://www.rapoetry.net/forums/images/ibulletin/buttons/report.gif instead of the http://www.rapoetry.net/forums/images/ibulletin/buttons/reputation.gif, thinking the R stands for Reputation, and have ended up accidentally making a report to me. I dunno how you could make those buttons a little clearer, but there's probably a way, maybe switching the X to a usual +/- sign or something. The other thing that could corrected is how, as opposed to with other styles, the http://www.rapoetry.net/forums/images/ibulletin/statusicon/subforum_old.gif icon next to sub-forums doesn't change appearance at all when there are new posts there. I understand if you don't want to mess up the color scheme by having it turn orange or something, but you could still have it maybe become darker, or green like the big regular forum icons, when the sub-forum gets new posts. It might be nice to have a choice between having the style fixed or fluid too.

ALRIGHT, I think that's about everything!
