ok, I dont know how everyone else has their Styles/Templates setup on their forums, but I have 4 child styles under the parent (Default) style which is disabled, but do all my changes from the default style so it carries down into the other styles.
Anyway, after searching for the templates for the chat in the default style and not finding anything, I figured I would use the "Find" feature and put in some key words related to the chat itself.
AHH HA!!!
The installer decided to bypass my default style (perhaps cause its disabled) and went and put those templates in the first child forum and ONLY that forum.
Im gonna go out on a limb here and say that perhaps those of us that are having problems are using a style other than the one those templates were installed on?? I know I was......but I didnt think of this until after I had moved all the templates.
For those still having problems and you are using a different style than where the templates are located, change your style settings and see if the chat works, that should prove it right there.
Ok so yeah, I dont know if there is any "easy" way to move templates from one style to another, but I didnt know how, so all I did was went to my child forum with the templates in it, selected Edit Templates then under Custom Templates, I went through each template, copied the template code, then backed up, went up to my Default style, Add New Template, pasted in the new code, retyped the title and Saved it.
Then I went back to the child forum, highlighted the template I just copied and selected Revert on the right.
I took about 10 mins and just repeated this process for all the templates, tried the chat again and it worked!!
**NOTE**
when you get down to the template called "chat_row_special_recieved" make sure you don't spell 'received' correctly or you'll end up with 2 templates and it probably wont work :D
I really hope this helps everyone out with the blank screen problem, goodluck.
