there is an easier way of doing this or I could be thinking of different software (I run IPB and phpbb too so forgive me for that :() but this will work
Go into search for phrases and find
sticky_thread_prefix
edit it and add <font color="your hex color code here"> before the word Sticky and then </font> after the : (obviously put your hex color code where I have put 'your hex color code here' ;)
Do the same with
moved_thread_prefix
for moved threads and with
announcement
for announcements
finally
poll_thread_prefix
is the one for polls.

If you want em to go into the admin section and change the phrase I found it but it will not let me edit it.
