How important is it to you?
Considering these days we have tons of differnt browsers and such, IMO we should all try to aim for valid XHTML and CSS. but i stills see alot of people using non valid XHTML or even HTML for that matter.
What do you think?

There's no point in coding if it's not going to be perfect, right down to the last indentation. I always code to XHTML and CSS Strict 1.1 (I sometimes settle for Transitional if i'm in a hurry).
In conclusion, i'm a freak.

I'm a transitional freak ... not too fussed about Strict, but will not release a site that is not Valid CSS and Xhtml

If it's a personal site and it will only be to your use, XHTML and CSS validation is not very important to me. For things that you release, especially concerning vBulletin mods, styles etc. these are both very important.
So in other words, vBulletin related things that are distributed should have valid XHTML and CSS.
