In the control panel, how would I be able to reduce the "right part" of the board so that there will be some space on the right side?

I would like the right column to appear only on the front page...such as www.sitepointforums.com
It is to insert a google ad inside the column.

Finally got what I needed. However, does anyone know how to align the main board with the right column?
