View Full Version : Top/Bottom Borders Per Category as seen on PixelJunction.com

I have my categories as seperate entities which includes their forum headers ("Forum", "No. of Views", "Moderators" etc) along with the actual forum data following underneath.
I have added a border by inserting an additional <tr> tag to stylize the forum categories to the top but the bottom remains elusive. If I try inserting the last <Tr> code into formbit_1 no post template then the border appears underneath every category instead of underneath the listed subforms.
Look at pixeljunction.com and their forum home to get an idea what I'm trying to do. When viewing their html the border tables ares located where they have commented at "begin border code".
Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Maybe you should ask at pixeljunction =)
Or link us to your board so we can see what you're talking about.

I did inquire to the folks at pixeljunction on that particular issue but I have had no replies. Perhaps they are reluctant to share.
If you view their forum home page where the categories and subforms are listed. That's the layout I'm trying to duplicate (of course, the images are my own and the table itself will be substantially different). As I said, I have the top working but not the bottom - at least, I can't figure out how to place the last <tr> at the bottom without it showing up after each subform.

I'm getting a database error at pixeljunction.. And I believe I know a way to do it if you want the image to be at the very top.. if you have a welcome panel or something.

I've got the top figured out. Just the bottom that I haven't been able to cover yet. Notice the site has a border for both top and bottom of the categories and their subforms.

I meant an image above the first category. Liks if you had a welcome panel or something. That's what pixeljunction has I believe.. the image that's on the bottom of the subs is the same as the one at the bottom of the welcome panel deal. Dunno, haven't been there in a while, and I'm still getting a db error when trying to view it.

Hmmm....what you're saying is that the category panel and the info panels are all using the same post-bit template?

Austin, there are no forums available for viewing yet. However, this is what I'm trying to accomplish:
-------------------- NEW CELL -------------------
Forum Category
--------------------------------------------------
| Forums | Posts | Views | Last Thread | Moderator|
--------------------------------------------------
| Forum 1 | 5 | 10 | test1 | Mod1 |
--------------------------------------------------
| Forum 2 | 5 | 10 | test2 | Mod2 |
--------------------------------------------------
| Forum 3 | 5 | 10 | test2 | Mod3 |
--------------------------------------------------
-------------------- NEW CELL -------------------

--------------------------------------------------
| Forum 3 | 5 | 10 | test2 | Mod3 |

-------------------- NEW CELL -------------------
As you can see, the NEW CELL label is the new <tr> <td></td></tr> I am adding at the beginning and end of each category and their subforums. That's basically all I'm trying to accomplish.

I know exactly what you want, I just don't know if it would work on your forums.
