how can i get an image where the forum catagories are fairly similar to how this site is, but a different image of course. here's a screenshot to show you exactltly what i mean by the image.

Do you have category spacing or any of the connected mods installed? This can vary where the code for that bar under the category is.

Heh, its just one of them things everyone wants to do now a days and asks about. We answer a new thread for this at least once a day it seems.

Ohh, I thought you meant an image for the forum/threads/replies etc. bar underneath the category image. Your arrow wasn't exactly very accurate in the screenshot.

It's not exactly very hard, and the mod would be very hard since alot of mods (like category images) change the whereabouts of the code in the templates.
