...OK first like on this forum, there's this HOME PAGE that has some stats on it, sign up (register), who on line, etc., but NOT THE ACTUAL FORUM!! I love that!!

HOW DO I DO THAT????

Also, I would love to have down the left hand side of my forum, and that home page, HECK, ON EVERY PAGE!! This WASTE area!! IN THAT area I would like to have a long list of "SPONSORS" I.E. BANNER ADS.

I've already found a BANNER HACK that works GREAT!!, but I can't seem to figure out how to create this "waste area". The banners are going to be 175x50 so the area doesn't have to be that wide??

HOW DO I DO THAT TOO???

Thanks for such a wonderful and BEAUTIFUL (to the eye) site.

Yours,

Kirk Voclain

What you want is called a VB portal. Not sure if it cost money or anything cause I dont use it.

Edit yes it cost money and it was released by firefly over at vb.org

BTW for your second demand did you want a side bar on the forum home page or on the vB portal one?

It is not vBportal ;), it is a custom script made by firefly that he sells.

voclain: That homepage you see is called a portal or CMS whatever suits your fancy. many have been made and depending on what you will be doing at least one is for you.

go over to vbulletin.org and search for vBindex and vBhome.

or go to phpportals.com and brab a copy of vBportal 3 beta.

as for your second question, you can have side bars on your forum quite easyly, and i belive vbportal has a option to add one to the left on demand.

the way to add the sidebars to vbulletin is quite simple. start the html for it in the header template. then end it (for example </table></td>) in the footer template.

I thought vbT wasn't using vBportal since it was so different to the actual one. Much clearer now. :)

@volclain: Chill out with the cap's :) - The script was made by FireFly and it costs $55. vBPortal is too bulky for our needs, hence it was not used.
