Sorry about that, let me know if you need certain parts explaining a little more, i wrote the tutorial right before i went to bed, so it may be a little confusing.

Nice tutorial, but I am dismayed to see Jelsoft using more Javascript in vbulletin.

I suppose some may see it as a downfall, but i myself absolutely love JavaScript, i learnt it before i moved on to PHP, and every now and again i would go off and do some modifications for forums like Proboards entirely in JS because it wasn't needed in vBulletin. But with AJAX i can use both PHP and JS =)

seems interesting Asynchronous Java and XML :)
Thanks for posting in details.
Using JavaScript/XML can you help me build 25 most recent posts hack for a NON-Vbulletin page ? I am looking for this since ages.

You could easily make a mod to the vB forum to output an XML file of the last X posts, with the data you want, then on another page on your server, use the AJAX to grab this data, and even grab the newest data every 1 minute, so the page would change if a new post had been made.
Might make a modification for it, it's just the trouble of instructions for websites, many people have them set up in countless different ways.

A nice link i found today for those interested in AJAX: http://www.ajaxmatters.com/
PS ZT, Should we maybe create a second "Discussion" thread, so we can keep this clean from comments and questions?
