my database is a bit of a mess at the moment :(

ive upgraded to the latest vb version and as i tried to re-intsll some of the old hacks and am adding the queries it comes up with error messages etc saying duplicate blah blah blah, i guess its just telling me the query has been run before. but if i continue with the edits etc the hacks done work at all.

question is can i do any of the following?

1) delete unwanted queries from my database so i can start from fresh

or

2) can i delete or create a new databse (therefore its clean) and start again but i need to bare in mind that i dont want to lose my members accounts or posts

is this possible or can anyone advise me better as im not all that clever at all this

many thanks

dean

After upgrade you should only do the file edits again (and maybe some templates). Don't run any queries. (only a few exceptions to this.)

so i should only have to do the edits to files and templates and that it? unless its a new hack of course?

but is there a way of deleteing queries taht ive added that i no longer need?

Dont bother unless you really know what your doing. You may end up dropping a table you need and you'll be screwed.
