I installed the vbchat, and when I enter chat, I get a white window. Also, I cannot get the data re: who is on line. I get Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in ******/forum/includes/functions_online.php on line 28

Help! LOL

Being a n00b at this stuff, I was able to go in and edit the "parsing errors". I'm still getting a white screen for the chat though. Any clues?

Now, I am locked out of the admin panel. HELP! Oh, this sucks.

Parse error is due to incorrect modifying of functions_online.php, open the back up of this file you should of made, re-do the edits carefully this time, overwrite and delete the old one on your server.

White screen is probably because you have multiple skins, when installing the system installs itself only on 1 skin, however this can be fixed via a modification i made, look in the FAQ thread for more information on this.

Locked out of your admin panel, can you be a little more specific, login fails or php errors or something? Thanks.

When I try to log in, it takes me back to the login screen. It won't open up the admin panel at all.

I was able to fix the parsing errors. I had copied and pasted the php file from note pad into a php editor, so I think it put a few line breaks where they weren't supposed to be. I went to the lines it called out and removed the break. That worked fine, and I can now see the "who's online".

Hmm, i don't know then about the ACP, do you have cookies enabled? I remember once that having cookie's disabled didn't let me login to the ACP, just threw me back to the login page.

So is that the only prob, the other 2 are fixed and such?

I initially put the chat edits on the child of default style. I went in and uploaded the templatecopy.php file. Is that to go in the admincp folder or the actual root forum of the board? Still getting a white screen. Let me check my cookies.

Well, you need to use it via the ACP to copy the chat templates over to other styles, it doesn't do it automatically. And to do that, you need ACP access.

Strange things with IE. I could get into the admin panel using Firefox. I also noticed that the vpchat function in the admin panel that was there earlier, now is not. I'm going to edit the Default style and see what happens from there. Stay tuned. LOL

I hate IE!!

I didn't until recently when a popup did an auto download of spyware. I had to clean up the registry key. For whatever reason now, my cookies aren't deleting.

I've gone through and re-edited and am still getting the white screen. The vbchat buttons in the ACP reappeared, but no chat.
