hey guys,

I run a fairly busy board (15,000+ members, 1,000,000+ posts etc) and i get SOOO many support emails... what i am wondering is if there is a help desk add-on that somebody has made which works on a ticketing system or something.. i would so help to have something like that.

Thanks guys,

Christian

Wouldn't it be easier to just set up a forum for support?

You could close the threads with solved issues and if you have privat things just only allow members to view their own threads.

You can setup a forum where regular members can only see their own threads and the replys to that thread. and of course the other groups like staff groupswould be able to see their posts members posts and erpely to them as well

Is that your product, bug?

Does it integrate with vbulletin, i cant see it on there.

Hey Prank!

Cerberus Helpdesk does integrate with vBulletin on the Support Center side for customer logins.

The Support Center ties into your existing website and allows your customers to create or manage tickets through the web rather than their e-mail client (which is always an option as well).

If there's anything else I can do to help, just ask!

Thanks!

I would appreciate some feedback, as I am currently brainstorming about any other nifty features, but I have failed to come up with any.

Hm... Interesting, I'll give cerbus a try later when I get a chance because it seems to be exactly what I am looking for :)

have a look at this one (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=77155&page=3&pp=15)

it was nominated for Hack of the Month in March, and does offer email submissions of help requests.

I strongly _NOT_ recommend this hack, as it has some _SERIOUS_ security issues! (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=643889&postcount=451 as an example)

He says he'll fix it, but this would be the second fix for the same bug, and I don't think he'll every be able to patch it.

PS I've found more than 5 security exploits, 4 of them each a different way of looking at other tickets, and 1 is an SQL injection.

Deaths - I have found the few SQL injection problems, but could you help me become aware of the other "security exploits" you've found?

Do you have lack of confidence in my programming capabilities? I'll have the bug fixed tomorrow.

No, I don't - free time is our friend, but it's rarely there ;).

I've already pointed out the bugs I encountered

The 4 ways of looking at tickets are in a different way, but I think patchable in 1.

As said in the hacks thread, I'll take a look at the code now, and let you know if I find anything.

So Deaths... do you now recommend HelpDesk v1.63? Or still believe it has security issues?
