Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/rapdome/public_html/frontlinez/forum/admin/db_mysql.php on line 40
thats the error im getting when im tryna log onto my forum. Earlier i had a different error message but our host said there was a problem and they have fixed it and everything worked, but ive just come back on and i get that, and when i go onto the cpanel and click mySQL..... I can't see any databases at all :-s so im totally baffled

well your mysql database plainly isn't around, so of course nothing can connect to it :)
Talk with your host, he probably changed something, or should at least have a backup.

yeah i sent an email before posting this, im just waiting on a reply.
But, for some weird reason it has worked for me just now, and loaded the main forum page. But the instant i went to read my PM's, it does the same thing again :-\

in your includes/config.php file, see for this:
$usepconnect = 0;
if it's set to 0, try with 1 ... if it's 1, set it to 0 .... this may be the cause... some mysql installations are alergic to pconnect...

well its working now, except when trying to post i get this error message which i emailed my host about
Database error in vBulletin 2.2.6:

hum... your database is corrupted... your MYI (one of the database file related to your structure) is missing, so there system can't archive the db... ask your host to reinstall the last backup ... or you will have to reinstall your site over...

now i dont get that message :-s when i hit submit reply it just freezes and doesnt load anything
so i dont know if they are fixing it or what, i dont know.
