This is very, very odd

My laptop recently got broke. I moved the directly which contains apache, mysql, and my forums php files to my desktop to work on them while the laptop is repaired. Now, oddly, my browsers (Netscape and IE) aren't loading *.jpg and *.js files from this new location, yet they were loading correctly on the laptop. I've checked the http.conf file of apache and the tools settings of IE to no success. Any ideas guys?

Note that this isn't a live copy of vbulletin - rather it's a development mirror for hacks I create for my own sites and client sites.

do you use a different OS on your desktop?

There are problems with apache and WinXP. I've had quite similar problems and was forced to add some lines to http.conf t make it work again (and the problems came out of nowhere..)

Forgot about making this plea for help (among others) after I found a solution - yes it turned out to be windows fault. I had to add a pair of lines to my http.conf file. For the sake of those watching who might be suffering similar problems those lines were

EnableSendfile off
EnableMMap off

Put them at the end of the file, and don't automatically assume you need this on a WinXP installation. On my laptop I apparently didn't need them.
