View Full Version : How do I convert this little bit of phpbb2 code to vB?

This is the code I was using when I had phpbb2

<?php

define('IN_PHPBB', true);
define('SHOW_ONLINE', true);
$phpbb_root_path = './';
include($phpbb_root_path . 'extension.inc');
include($phpbb_root_path . 'common.'.$phpEx);

//
// Start session management
//

$userdata = session_pagestart($user_ip, PAGE_DOWNLOADS);
init_userprefs($userdata);
//logged in mod
if (!$userdata['session_logged_in'])
{
redirect(append_sid("login.$phpEx?redirect=downloads.$phpEx", true));
}

//
// End session management
//

//
// Generate the page
//

$page_title = $lang['Downloads'];

include($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/page_header.'.$phpEx);

//
//
//

if (!isset($_GET['name'])) { $name="home"; }
else { $name=$_GET['name']; }

$file=$name.".html";
include("downloads/$file");

//
// End the page
//

include($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/page_tail.'.$phpEx);

?>

And now I wish this to work on my install of vB 3.0.1
Basically all it does is get the page from a bunch of html files, and put it inbetween the header and footer (so it looks like it's part of the forum.

/fourm/downloads.php?name=books

That's how it would display in the address bar.

This is what I've tried, but I'm not really understanding php, or the way vB works, so any help would be really really great :)

<?php

// GO TO FORUM DIR
chdir('/home/idlewild/public_html/forum/');

// STANDARD VBULLETIN STUFF
define('NO_REGISTER_GLOBALS', 1);
define('THIS_SCRIPT', 'script_name');
require_once('./global.php');

// GENERIC_SHELL VARS
$pagetitle = "Downloads";
$HTML = ""; // PIECED TOGETHER IN SCRIPT

if (!isset($_GET['name'])){
$name="home"; }
else{
$name=$_GET['name'];
}

$file=$name.".html";

$thing=('downloads/$file');

eval('$HTML = "'$thing'");

eval('print_output("' . fetch_template('GENERIC_SHELL') . '");');

?>
