MySQL creating temp files

The problem i am having is that it is creating them at the rate of about 1000 per minute. Which I would assume is normal my site is pretty busy. The problem lies in the fact that they arent being deleted afterward. How do i set this to do just that? Auto delete after they are done being used? I recently upgraded(yesterday) from ubb 6 to vbulletin. And this is the problem i am having with it. If any one has any suggestions please provide them

That alone doesn't make sense. Why would you assume that is normal?
