Last week we've moved the forum from an apache aphrodite server to another server, also an apache. The new server should be faster but it is'nt. It is significant slower. Pages generated in 33 secs or higher and we have no idea how this is possible.
What can we do to boost the speed or test the apache/mysql to find out what's causing this strange speed downfall?

If you are using paid hosting, then contact the company who supply the service to you, and ask them what is making your website so slow.

It could be anything from a faulty HD, to Aliens.

is it a shared server or dedicated? if it's shared then that is probably your answer.. check to see how high the server load is. if you have SSH type: top at the prompt to see the load and it's current processes.

Tnx for the feedback, however we have moved back to the other server. Strange...all the settings are the same, apache, mysql files etc. and on the new server it uses 60 to 80 % of the total server recources and generates forumpages in 35 to 40 seconds.
Maybe it is a path somewhere in a php file but we have not found that. Wierd!
