hi,

we just upgraded our website from a virtualhost to a dedicated server to deal with the growing amount of users surfing the boards.

having everything running again, we see a very strange problem.

when reading a thread page, vb sends alls the text and some of the avatars and graphics to the user and stops.

after a delay of 4-10 seconds there is another load of avatars and graphics sent. thereafter we see a status like "11 objects remaining" on the IE status line, mostly being avatars, which then come step-by-step. same delay is with attachments.

the .phps for writing replys, new threads, private mail etc post the data to the database very fast. but it takes very long until the redirection page comes up. hitting the send button several times generates several postings.

we also hear reports from users asking us about "packet loss". vb seems not to react on clicked links somewhat often.

we run vb 2.2.8 and i assume we are just misconfigured atm.

the system:

p III, 1300 mhz, 512 mb ram, 40 GB harddisk
redhat 7.2
apache 1.3.22
php 4.22

any additional info needed?

thanks for any help!
