when I edit the config file it says to add the URL of the path: Complete the variable below with the full url ie
* http://www.your_web.net/path_to_your_phpMyAdmin_directory/
*
* It must contain characters that are valid for a URL, and the path is
* case sensitive on some Web servers, for example Unix-based servers.
*
* In most cases you can leave this variable alone, as the correct value
* will be detected automatically. However, we recommened that you do
* test to see that the auto-detection code works in your system.
*
* If the auto-detection code does work properly, you can set the
* $cfg['PmaAbsoluteUri_DisableWarning'] variable below.
*/
What is my path? I havent created a directory yet. Should I just create a folder in my root directory named say, jgunsphp and then the variable would be www.mydomain.com/jgunsphp?

Also, I went through the installation and set up jgunsphp as my directory. I got this error message when I went to www.mysite/jgunsphp/
what did I do wrong? Do I need to have jgunsphp in my forums directory and not the root directory?

I moved forums. Now when I go to www.mysite.com/Forum/jgunsphp/ I get a bold writing on the left that says "phpmyadmin" and then below it, is has config.inc.php and when I click on that, I get an error screen. Please help!

Ok, I can help you on this.. I want to clear about this, is this phpmyadmin?
You ll have to edit config.inc.php first to input your directory, change few config to protect your access and save it to upload. What kind of server you use?

I actually got it to work.... well I got something to work. I see all of my folders in the left hand side, a place to pick my db in the middle and that is it. I am trying to run a query, where the heck is the query function?

?? if you got it work, you shouldnt see the folders on left side as you stated.. it should look like this..(check the attachment)
Also if it is not then can you PM me your config.inc.php? Pls delete your username and password off from your config.inc.php so I can look at your config.inc.php. That if it is ok with you

I'm sure you are in good hands with DestyNova, but for the record, what version of phpMyAdmin are you trying to use?
I have the latest stable version on our web server, and an older version on my intranet.... layout is slightly different between versions.

That is a good question. I thought maybe that would have some relevance. I am using whatever the latest release is. I believe it is 2.3.0
