View Full Version : phpMyAdmin?? ha.. never after this... ;)
i discovered a great tool: EMS MySQL Manager
link: http://ems-hitech.com/mymanager/
after playing with it, i realised that phpMyAdmin is a little ugly tool with alot of functions missing.. with EMS you can connect to any database and do what ever you want, in the way you want. is like comparing VB with wwwBoard... ;)
here it is a screenshoot... below. let me know what you think, when you try it.

Being a Web-based application phpMyAdmin can't possibly offer you as much as these programs.
I like MySQL front, Chris P. found it and told me about it, can't stop using it since.
:) glad you all like it.. and i have 1024mb ram, mark ;) and i run in the background my Apache and MySQL server invisible...
in winXP, the ram you have the better runs your pc, contrary to win98(ME) where the recommended memory size is 64mb... not more. i see people stacking tons of memory on their boxes. it only slows down your system instead of making it faster...

Make sure you allow outside connections.

I actually had it working earlier. Found out my mysql database was open to the world. Created a new userid and password. When I deactivated the generic ones, I got rid of the outside connections one too. That was it. All is almost right in my little world.
Thanks
Chris
glad it helped you also.. cditty :)
i'm sure you see the difference.. it will be wierd in the beginning, because is pretty complex, but once you get used to it.. you will see what you missed until now ;)

It looks good. I can see me causing ALL kinds of new problems with this one. :)
It is very similar to a program we use at work called Toad. Toad is used to connect to that very expensive and complicated database. You know the one. Dare I say it's name? It starts with an 'O'. :)
