Hello

I set up my forum and created a few test forums.
After I understood the structure of the forum system (Last used vBulletin on Version 4) I changed the Names of the Categorys and forums and started my forum.

After the the first 20 Posts or so I recognised that the old test forums are still in the URL Structure and I need to change that.

Can someone help me plz:

Which DB Query do I have to run to change my current URL links that look like this

http://www.domain.com/forum/forum/61-post-name#post63

to

www.domain.com/forum/xxx/yyy/61-post-name#post63

Thank you in advance and it is nice to be back after 10 years without vBulletin

Kind regards

Hello,

It is not recommended to change URLs with a database query. This can cause problems including the lack of 301 redirects.

To change the URL of a channel (i.e. Forum), visit that forum in your browser. Then:

1. Turn on Site Builder, if necessary, by clicking the Edit Site toggle.
2. Edit the page.
3. Save the page.
4. In the Save Dialog, update the URL as you wish.
5. Finish saving the page.
6. Repeat for other channels.

When you save the page, the system will automatically create a 301 redirect record so links to your old URLs will continue to work.

All the best,

I remember your name from "the old days"

Just noticed that I am a member on vBulletin since 09.2001
