Hi Guys ,
The people from VBulletin pointed me over to your site for some help...
Im running a PHPnuke site (5.2) and i would like to use Vbulletin ..... but i need it to share the same user file as PHPnuke ........
So basically when a user logs in they can use the site features and the Forums
Is there a hack available for this ?
It would be great if someone can help me with this
thanks,
waddy

you might want to use vbportal by wajones. it uses the basics of nuke and is integrated with vb...
VBportals (http://www.phpportals.com)

Hi thanks for a reply .. i thought i was the only one here for a while :)
I have looked at the VB portal but it is just so ugly ... i think i would loose all my regulars ....
My site is well established and cant change portals .......
I only want to use VBulletin as my current forums have the slowed right down due to the large number of members
thanks for your reply
regards
waddy
no probs waddy have been visiting your site on a daily basis for a while now and it would be a shame to loose the nice front end that you are using.

thanks Paddy ....
one more question , how do i get my NUKE header to appear on the top of my forums
much like this site .......
regards
waddy
play with the header in the control panel... vbportal utalises the nuke system and integrates it into vbulletin, you may want to ask wajones as he is the mastermind behind portal

Why don't you just convert your PHPNuke theme over to VBP?
It has been done with several Nuke and Post nuke themes already. As far as the user db, well ppl are working on that now and should be avalible in upcoming releases.

Yer its not so much the "ugly" factor now , paddy has shown me a site which has used NUKE themes
It is basically Database side.. ive got to much info and stuff to loose
But if they have worked out a way to use my current DB i would definately move across
Have you any links to sites useing the VBportal (big ones) so i can have a look
is the speed ok ?
thanks

Well I would say as far as the speed goes and the site being efficient, http://www.phpportals.com/ is a great example of how well vbp handles large capacity sites.
But ultimately the web server is the main thing that decides.
You can set yourself up a test site and play with it to see if it's to your liking

igowoofwoof, I checked it out and they are charging $20 for the beta version. Not worth it if you ask me, it's just a hacked version of PHP Nuke. I'm running vB with Post Nuke, so I imagine at some point I will be looking to merge the two. I'll be sure to document it so I can share it freely.

wajones is asking for donations for access to the members area. Not for the download itself.
You just need to be registered on the boards to be able to download.

waddy, please go to this (http://www.vbulletin.com/members/vbulletin.org.php) page and enter your username, to show you are licensed. (you will need to use your customer number and password to access that page)
Thank you.
