View Full Version : Conditional if has not reached specific number of posts
Hello, I want to restrict the content of each post on my forum in this way:
If user has more than 40 post counts, he can see the content of every post. Else here should reach that number .
Is it possible to do such via coding?

What I would do is use promotions. When a user reaches a post count of 40 they would be automatically promoted to a usergroup with permissions to view posts.
I don't recommend doing this at all though, to be honest. A user who cannot read posts is simply going to be discouraged and go somewhere where they can actually read posts.
Thanks MarkFL, I know using promotions, but I want to show a message who have not reached post count of 40 that they're not able to see the content.
Does promotions do this?

You could use a notice for that, but let me ask you...how is a user supposed to get to 40 posts if he/she can't see any content and reply to it?
I've seen on many forums where users cannot do this or that until they reach a certain post count, and depending on what features are being held over their head, this can lead to very spammy posts as they try to get past the post count barrier.
I forgot to say:
I want to do this on some specific forums.
Suppose there are "One", "Two" and "Three" forums.
When a member post count is below 40 and is trying to see any post content of Two, he should face this.
On One and Three, anyone can send post with any post count.

Here is a product of mine that should do what you need:
Restricted Forums By Post Count (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=324655)
This restricts them from posting, but if I recall correctly, they can still see the content.
I'll check it out.
Thanks
