Also I have same issue and cannot get fixed. I am asked my hosting provider and get response, I do not know why you are getting an error with GMail SMTP. For GMail SMTP error you will need to ask vBulletin support.

hmmm, not sure then, as that error is coming from gmail, not from vBulletin.

gmail, blocks the connection, made the change to Outlook now is perfect
