Hi,
My site is https://www.christforums.org. It appears that bing is penalizing my site for multiple h1 tags. I am looking for help in resolving this issue.
Here is what Bing says:
SEO Analysis Detail (Beta)
SEO Suggestion There are multiple <h1> tags on the page.
Severity High
Error Count 8
Non-Compliant Pages 1
Recommended Action Remove redundant <h1> tags from the page source, so that only one <h1> tag exists.
Thanks,
William

You can edit the module_title template and change them to a h2 tag which you can have any number on a given page. HTML5 allows for multiple h1 tags but SEO doesn't like it. If you change them to h2, you will need to change the CSS to make the h2 tags appear larger. Then you will want to add an h1 tag toward the end of the header template after the div id="content" and set the CSS for h1 to display:none so they don't complain about not having one.

Edit: Thanks for your time Replicant, I figured it out with your instructions!

I was informed that hiding the H1 tag can also take an SEO hit, so using it and positioning and sizing it is probably best.

I ended up displaying the h1 tag and decreasing its font size.
Another question. I would like forum categories to have h2 tags and subforums h3 tags.
Edit: figured it out and updated thread here: Vbulletin 5 Mutliple H1 Tags Resulting in SEO SERP Penalty (https://www.christforums.org/forum/entertainment-fun/computers-technology/6956-vbulletin-5-mutliple-h1-tags-resulting-in-seo-serp-penalty)
My homepage is now the way I wish to have it.
Thanks!
