So here's my issue, when I try and install plugin's onto VB there's always some sort of error. I upload the 'upload' files to the forum directory, which is where it is specified to be uploaded to. I then attach the proper .xml file and install the plugin. For one of the plugins it dind't even install saying the file didn't exist, it was the same but for some reason the root of the file it was looking for did not have the /UPLOAD part that mine had. Secondly for another which was the 'Helpful Answers' plugin, it installed properly but the thumbs up and thumbs down images were just vertical rectangles, and when I clicked on them there was an error saying to check the file on the server. Please help me, I've been working real hard on my forum and I just need to get these plugins installed before I can launch the forum to the public. I appreciate any help, I have attached where I upload the files on filezilla, don't mind that it's not connected to the server in that screenshot, I connect before uploading.

Well for specific issues with each mod, you need to ask in the mods thread.

As far as instillation instructions for any mods, that also needs to be addressed in the mods thread.

But you can give this a read, for general info, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=201864

Thanks ozzy, yeah I've read that thread. I'm just frustrated because I have no idea what's going on I don't think I'm doing anything wrong and I've spent hours on this same problem.

Well if you load the files to the proper place, then import the product XML.

ACP --> Plugins & Products --> Manage Products, then click the Add/Import Product that will appear at the bottom of the page.

Then browse for the XML on your PC.

I just followed your advice on uploading it directly under public_html where I was uploading it under the forum directory prior to that. I still get the same error, let me attach it in a screenshot.

Edit: I saw your post on the other thread about uploading it to the forum directory, well this is what I have been doing and it's not working. :/

Also I took a screenshot of how my server files look in filezilla, does anything look amiss?

If you want, PM me a full admin account, FTP info, and a link to a mod that you are trying to install, and I will try to install it to see if I get the same results as you.

Keep in mind, when a modification has an "upload" folder, typically you're supposed to upload the contents of that folder. Not the upload folder itself. They've just put them in an upload folder to keep them distinct from the folders/file you don't upload. If you don't, then all your needed files aren't going into the right directories. Look inside the upload folder. If you see folders called admincp, images, clientscript or similar to that, then they're supposed to go in your forum root, overwriting the same folders already there.

Oh I've been uploading the upload folder... Thank you so much for this. So should I select all the files together and put them in the forum root? Also ozzy I'll try this and if it still doesn't work I'll take you up on your offer. Thanks so much guys, as you can assume I am not too experienced.

Well I did say that in the mods thread.

Please drag and drop the contents of the upload folder (use Ctrl+A to select all files) :p

Glad to hear it is all good now. :)

Don't worry about the simple mistakes, we all made them when we first started.
