temp ban of members for mods

That one is different enough that its not going to work, plus I want it to be available to the mods not just admin.

Done a bit of searching here & google and I do not see anything that allows for a temp ban, but you can set the mods to have the ability to ban in the admincp.

Edit for each mod you have:

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Show All Moderators -> Edit -> Can Ban Users -> Yes
