View Full Version : Need a way to prevent bumping in 4.2.2

Hi,

I need a way to prevent people from bumping posts before a certain amount of days.

We have a classified section that we only allow members who have 10 posts and have been registered for 30 days to use.

We do not allow replies to the posts and only the thread starter can post in the thread.

When we were on 3.8.x we had a mod that prevented posts by the thread starter before "X" days.

I don't seem to be able to find a mod for 4.2.2 that would do the same thing.

I tried using the "Double Post" feature built in, but it doesn't work properly.

This is the mod I used to use:

Can anyone help me out with something like this?

Have you tried that mod on your v4? Many, many mods coded for 3.8 work with v4. BoP5 even has a list of them.

What issues are you having with the built in feature for Double Posting? Maybe someone can help you fix that portion of the site and you would not have to install anything else.

I imported the 3.8 mod and will see if it works.

I just was hesitant to load it seeing that it wasn't made for 4.2.2

The prevent double post isn't ideal because it still allows the poster to post... it just combines the two or more posts into the original post.

Hope it works for you though!
