Hi,
I just want to know some stuff before migrating from vb4.x.x to vb.3.x.x
I have over 4K threads (4000 thread) and want to know how to move them to my new vb3 from vb4.
also, is everything going to be fine after moving? I mean urls are going to be the same or not as well as users info and threads info!!
all comments are welcome.

Wait, you are downgrading from vB4 to vB3?

Wait, you are downgrading from vB4 to vB3?Not a uncommon desire, and I have seen where it was successfully accomplished. Although methods and procedures escapes me.

Yes, That's what I'm thinking to do.
vb4 stinks. It has a lot of tools that are unknown, low performance compared to either vb5 or vb3, many scripts and css files on showthread page, needs a very good and expensive hosting, plenty of warnings and errors, plugins are not as many as vb3,.... and so on...
I believe there are many reasons why and I guess vb staffs know this...
And again Yes, I want to downgrade this none sense to real sense (vb3) :)
Thanks

From what I have read it is possible, but being that the datbase structure is different, you will loose, permissions, paid subscription data, attachments, third party addon information and quite possibly more.

This is only possible by migrating to another Forum software then re importing from that to vB 3
This post is the best way:
You can also convert to another board like mybb or phpbb3. From there you an use impex system. I guess you will loose the members password by doing so.

And in reality you want the 3.8.8 - for the last little bit of extra security and also compatibility with PHP 5.
I remain SO happy I stuck with my 3.8, I really can't tell you. They will have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands.

Thanks everyone for the great comments.
I'm not looking for a downgrade method using impex script because it causes many issues. Also, it changes a lot of things especially in users info, their ids, thread id, ...etc
is there a well known method or solid procedure where I don't lose anything?
Thanks
