is this possible at all?
I was just wondering if this was at all possible to do without having to have all members re-register again, lose information, etc?
if not its fine but I just thought I'd see if it's at all possible or should I just attempt to move on to continue using v.4 software?
any help would be appreciated.
thanks in advance.

I recommend to run vb4, it's better than vb3 but (never upgrade to vb5)

Not possible without a backup.

ok....so if I were to back up the forum I have going that is currently on a vb4 software and then install vb3 software, go into the admin cp and import the backup file, would that import all information and run the forum without any issues?
because I know there is a back up on the admincp where you create the back up file, can it be imported into vb3 to spite it being created in vb4?

I recommend to run vb4, it's better than vb3 but (never upgrade to vb5)I am yet to see any indicator of that. Really. What's the compelling thing that makes it "better?"

i am looking to do this possibly tonight, so if anyone can confirm 100% that my users wouldn't have to re-register and i wouldn't lose any content if i made a back up file on vb4 and then uploaded it into vb3 I would be ok and nothing would be lost or cause conflicts?
i mean other than mods and that, I realize I'd have to re-add those more than likely. my issue is losing posts, content and my members have to re-register.

Have you hunted around a bit? I seem to recall a pretty sharp coder even posted a tutorial.
