I have been thinking about writing some rewrites to add microdata to my forums.

But it had me thinking would it be wise to use microdata in the showthreads?

Example I could rewrite posts to be Microdata Article Entries.

But would that be naughty to have all posts as articles when sometimes they are just chat.

I would like to make the most of the Microdata and have no problems implementing it but do not want to piss of uncle google lol.

Thanks for any input

Mick

I would think a lot of people would want to implement something like this.

On my companies main web site we have been working on implementing "RDFA Lite 1.1", we are testing it on an unimportant live site to see if it helps at all in our rankings.

I don't worry about rankings because the board I operate is a private corporate board, but I will be adding some microdata to the board to interface better with the facebook search engine. Just as soon as I find out how facebook exactly uses the attribute data. Facebook only uses "RDFA Lite" and doesn't follow the "microdata" standard.

Anyway, my two cents. It would be interesting to implement. Will it help rankings... I would like to know. :)
