This MOD gives users in selected forums the ability to hide their content by using any of the 7 BBCode. ([HIDE], [HIDE-REPLY], [HIDE-THANKS], [HIDE-REPLY-THANKS], [HIDE-POSTS], [SHOWTOGROUPS], [STG])

1. Features


Seven different BBCode to Hide Contents.

[HIDE-REPLY] -> Content within this tag is not shown to user until he/she replies in that thread.
[HIDE-POSTS] -> Content within this tag can only be seen by people's who have more posts than defined number of posts.
[HIDE-THANKS] -> Content within can only be seen after the user says thank you by pressing Thanks Button. Requires: Abe1 [AJAX] Post Thank You Hack (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=231666) / vBSeo Like System (http://vbseo.com/).
[HIDE-REPLY-THANKS] -> Content within this tag is not shown to user until he/she either reply or press "Thank You" button.
[SHOWTOGROUPS] -> Content within this tag is only shown to defined usergroups.
[STG] -> Content within this tag is only shown to defined users.
[HIDE] -> This tag can be mapped to any of the above BBCodes. (Default - [HIDE-REPLY])



Fully Compatible with Source and Wysiwyg Editor.
No Template or File Edits. (optional - one file edit if you have rss enabled)
Uses vBulletin easy Product installer/updater/uninstaller
Uses AJAX technology so your users don't have to refresh to see hidden content.
Content within Tags are completely hidden, there is no way to bypass hide tags. Contents are hidden everywhere including

2. Installation


Download and unzip vFCoders_hide_hack.zip file from this thread.
Upload all the files inside "UPLOAD" folder into your vBulletin installation directory. (where forum.php file is located)
Import product-vfc_hide_hack.xml file through Product Manager in admincp.
Note: [HIDE-THANKS] and [HIDE-REPLY-THANKS] Tag will not work if you don't have Abe1 [AJAX] Post Thank You Hack (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=231666) or vBSEO Like System installed in your forum.
Optional - If you have RSS enabled in your forum, then open install.txt file and do the edit's which is mention in that file.

Installation Complete..



3. Settings


Global Settings: Admincp -> Settings -> Options -> vFCoders - Hide Hack
Usergroup Settings: Admincp -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager -> Edit Usergroup -> vFCoders - Hide Hack Permissions
Forum Settings: Admincp -> Forum Manager -> Edit Forum -> vFCoders - Hide Hack [Options]

CMS Widget (Recent Forum Posts) doesn't have any plugin hook, so manual edit is required to strip hide bbcodes from recent forum posts widget.

Open file -> packages/vbcms/widget/recentposts.php
Find:

This Mod uses Template for [HIDE-REPLY], [HIDE-THANKS] AND [HIDE-REPLY-THANKS]. (if [HIDE] tag is mapped to any of these three tag, then [hide] tag also uses template.)

So to add image

StyleManager -> Edit templates

for [HIDE-REPLY] Tag open vfc_hide_hack_bbcode_reply Template

Replace:
{vb:rawphrase vfc_hidden_content_reply_ntml}

With:
IMG HTML CODE

i didn't get you completely.. do you want a small icon near threadtitle in forumdisplay (threadlist) to state whether the thread used HIDE tag or not.

Not something like that. Actually admins/staffs are not bound on hide codes. They can view every post as it is not hidden.
If there was an indication in each post whether it uses hide tag or not. They can check it going to EDIT mode, but there is no way to learn whether the particular post is hidden or not for the general members.

ok, in next release (Gold) will add indication. (maybe a unhide image)
btw, in current version you can add indication for [HR], [HT], [HRT], [H] tags by editing their respective templates.

I just installed this and for some reason the images do not show in the quick reply or the advanced reply screen. I just have 4 blank boxes. I took a look at the code and the seem to be being called from the image/buttons directory and not the images/editor, which is fine.

I tried changing the images from gif to png, but no success with that. I'm running 4.1.12 PL1, and maybe that is the reason. Are you going to update for the latest version or is there another solution to this problem?

The button images folder is pointed to the correct directory, so it should work. I don't know why but maybe there is another mod that is messing with it. I will try to disable them one at a time. I'm guessing that others are not having the same issue?

For some reason no matter what I try I can't get the images to show on this mod.:confused:

I've temporarily disabled it, but it would be great if I could remove the buttons from the text editor, and still be able to use the codes. I primarily want it for mods and admin.

You do not have to do it, but I as well as many other vB users know that DBTech (Dragonbyte) creates, updates and integrates so many mods that they are well known in the community of vBulletin.

For example Pro Version:

Infinite Buttons: Ability to create new buttons to press! No longer do you need to be limited by Thanks / Like / Dislike.

Auto Collapse Posts: Collapses a post so it doesnt show up by using a formulae for button clicks of your choosing.

User Postbit Config: Lets users decide what postbit stats they want to see.

Additional permissions: Un-click a button. Control how many stats show on the statistics page, set permissions per subforum.

Integrated Controls: You can now integrate the button clicking controls into the post footer, like many of you requested.

Buttons in First Post Only: This allows you to only make the first post thankable. If you forum is based around news, releases or anything similar this will allow your users to easily see the quality of the thread in question.

Button Click Anonymity: This feature will be extremely helpful to forums who like the idea of a "dislike" button, but don't like the drama it brings. Now you can set certain buttons to be anonymous - no one will see who clicked.

Post Colour Thresholds: Ever wanted an easy way for members to tell if a post is helpful or trash? Colour thresholds let you change the colour of posts depending on how many clicks of a button they receive. Members can now see at a glance whether or not a post is helpful, interesting or pointless.

And that does not even mention the integration of this system with vBActivity! DBTech is very highly used and recommended, whether it is the free version or the pro version. Abe 1 is a nice hack, but not as nice as DBTech. I removed DBTech to install Abe 1 for this Mod.:eek:

I noticed something in firebug, when trying to figure out what the error was. If you notice I placed a blank line right before the URL string. Notice the string does not give a direct location! Well, it does, but does so twice, and I'm trying to find out in the template editor where that line of code is so I can correct it. Do you know where this line is located?

try this attach file, i have made the changes for you specially. (it will pull images from images/button)

So I dropped the buttons/images from the mod in that location. Now only one image is not showing and it gives me the same kind of URL.

sideblock also doesnt use plugins, so manual edit is required to strip hide tags.

To Strip HIDE TAG's from sideblock


Open -> includes/block/newpost.php file

Find:

Add Above:

Ah, I took a look at the code, and the last line for the showtogroups tag was wrong. I made the correction to it, and now all my images show! Many thanks! Now I can start playing with it!! I've attached the updated plugins file just in case someone else has the same problem I was having!

No..just moved the hook . Well made a new one and put it where I wanted but this is a test site so you could be right now that you mentioned it I think it had a issue with the Ajax with out this mod ill check it out when I get home. Thanks.. oh ie9 and ff are the browsers I tested it with

(Being stupid) I've bought DavidsMod Hide hack a few months ago and he's promissing updates since then, but nothing. Basically I've paid 45$ for a mod that doesn't work.
I just realized that real coders offer their work for free, here on vB forum. There are a lot of great coders that do this service just for the love of utility, progression and helping others. (BirdOPrey5 is one of them for example)

and only mods cant view, super mods can see all

you didn't get me. Popup which i shown is only possible in ckeditor (vb >= 4.1.4) as i specially made this mod vb >= 4.1.4.

Select usergroup popup will be shown on vb forum which has ckeditor.
ckeditor was implemented on vbulletin >= 4.1.4 or you can say 4.1.04

Uninstalled as not working on my forum (4.11 pl 2), Button image is not showing on ckeditor, Hack is not working on any hide tag. I have give all permission to user. And check all other option but nothing helped. Is this version is issue?

Its s test sites so I logged in as a user and used the quote post in pm to a user that did not thank or post to a test thread and the pm was readable but since I used this to send the pm. It had the hide code in it and was readable by the user

I use a similar hack to this for the SHOWTOGROUPS hide.

problem is when member are using tapatalk and forumrunner etc on smart phones they se the hidden content

well i haven't tested this mod with forumrunner, so can't really tell but i expect it to work if it doesn't then i am here to fix it.

I made a quick change to use the 1.72 version of jquery hosted on google's CDN. (http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.2/jquery.min.js)

All seems fine after doing this, do you foresee any problems?

you can disable any hide tags which you don't want to use in admincp.

As far as I can see you cant hide the [HIDE] tag only map it to another therefore its always in the editor. As i only want to use [SHOWTOGROUPS] I dont see the point of having a HIDE button and a SHOWTOGROUPS button doing the same thing

well you can disable hide button also if you want.
Under usergroup Manager, uncheck HIDE TAG for every usergroup.

select default usergroups and save it.. (after saving it will rebuild settings)

First here is the query to recover all your hidden posts

UPDATE post ns join thread hh on ns.postid=hh.firstpostid set ns.pagetext = (SELECT concat('',replace(hd.content,' ','\n'),'') FROM dmods_hide_content hd where ns.threadid = hd.identifier limit 1);

With this query you are copying the hidden content to the correct table "posts", after that you must uninstall davidmods VBHide, then upload vFCoders folder and install it! you are ready

Make sure you go into your USERGROUPS and save. This will enable the modification for the usergroups you've chosen. This mod did not work until I went in and saved. Didn't have to modify anything, just save.

Hi Badshah,

I think you've written a GREAT addon! On our forum we use it primarily for the STG (SHOWTOGROUP) feature, so senior members can see restricted content and the junior level members have incentive to advance to the senior levels.

There are a few ideas that I had to make the addon a bit more functional and configurable:

Toolbar/BBcode ideas:
Shorten SHOWTOGROUPS to be STG, but leave the SHOWTOGROUPS tag as well so that old posts will continue to work.
Add an additional tag of SHOWTOUSERS for STU, just for completeness. ;)
Add two check boxes to the SHOWTOGROUPS and STU tag's dialogs that will allow the poster's friends to see the content, or the posters ignored users to be blocked, both of these "checked" functions should override the groups that the users belong to. And I suppose admin setting to enable these check boxes or not.
Add a third check box to leave off the green box and outline. And and admin setting to enable this check box or not.

Core functionality ideas:
Add an option to NOT map the HIDE tag to anything. i.e. jsut don't have the button or do anything with the code. We only have SHOWTOGROUP active, so we effectively have 2 buttons that do the same thing, although if we change the mapping in the future, a lot of posts will expose content that wasn't intended to be seen. The remappable HIDE tag is a liability.
Allow the Green Box and outline to be optionally enabled or disabled. And possibly have the HTML code for the green box in a field in the control panel so the admin can edit the look and feel of the box. Possibly introduce some standard variables like {allowed_groups}, {allowed_friends} and {ignored_users} that can be used in the "green box" code to show WHO can see the content to all viewing users.
Add an option to ALWAYS block users that are on the poster's ignore list. (As a global setting)
Add an option to always ALLOW users that are in the poster's friends list. (As a global setting)
Allow the admin to select which usergroups show up in the dropdown box for the SHOWTOGROUPS tag.

Nice to haves (but not critical):
Allow users for the STU tag to be chosen by name instead of user number (similar to how you pick users for PMs)
Add a pick from friends button on the STU dialog that will bring up a list of the poster's friends and check boxes to quickly select them.
Allow the admin to choose the usergroups AND the order to be displayed for SHOWTOGROUP tag dialog. Also allow the admin to chose if selecting a group just effects that group or that group and ALL the groups higher on the list. (e.g. we have senior user groups defined as escalating ranks: bronze, silver, gold, platinum. Right now the poster has to select ALL 4 ranks to show content that requires a "bronze" rating. It would be nice if the poster could select "bronze and above" instead of individually picking the usergroups.)


Lastly, you need to come up with some way for us to pay you for this mod! You're doing great work, I'm sure that at least some of us would like to give you something for your efforts!

The HIDE tag mapping to anything you want is a VERY useful feature for most people, it'd be a mistake to get rid of it IMO.

I didn't ask to get rid of it. I just asked for an option to turn it off. We all have different styles, I don't like having two buttons on the edit toolbar that do the same thing.

if you are using custom skin, then make sure you upload hide images under custom skin buttons folder.

Having an issue with the quick reply if a user reply's, it does not unhide the content, only if they refresh the page it become unhidden.

I have tested it with all my other mods disabled, could you advise please

I have also reverted the show thread template to its original, still no joy atm any other ideas ?

Ohhh I found the problem :O
It does not work with this mod [CKEditor] MARCO1 Advanced Quick Reply And Edit (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=264219) I've disabled it and work fine.... is there a way to fix it??

It's only in the quick reply and the quick edit doesn't appear the hide icons :S

vfc_hide_hack_bbcode_hp_stg_stu
vfc_hide_hack_css

I added them to vFCoders - Hide Hack [Cache Templates]
and all seems good
please correct me if this is not correct

Select a tag which will be mapped to [HIDE] code.

so the [hide] is no longer used by it's self

I noticed one thing that need refresh after pressing thanks button to count the total thanks.
