so i added this to the .htaccess file (once i tried on root (with the dir added where is vb installed) and once in the dir where vb is installed), with the resultat, that nothing was accesible in the dir (and sub dirs). so something is wrong with that code, but i have no clue what (and the .htaccess file was empty, so nothing other inside)

If you had a blank .htaccess, it would probably be easiest to clear it out, make it writable (chmod 777) and import the product file again. It should then complete without issue.

ok, that worked, atleast it installed, and then there was again:

i contacted the hostsupport and they told my i should add:

Options +FollowSymlinks

before "RewriteEngine on" in the .htaccess file. now it works.

You can create a secondary usergroup, say "banned from arcade" and add users to that. Then you can easily block that usergroup from playing in the arcade.

I like this arcade but I messed up. I upgraded from vB3 to vB4 earlier this week. I have backups. I started with ibproarcade which looked terrible after the upgrade. I migrated to v3arcade which wasn't much better. I installed and converted to this arcade earlier today. It was working fine, and the games use a ton of space, so I removed the old arcades both by uninstalling products and removing games. Sometime later I noticed there were multiple scrores being recorded for members. I only wanted to have the best score per member. I tried the scheduled cron job for cleaning up the scores but misinterpreted what it does. Now all our scores are gone. I have a sql dump of the original arcade. Is there any way for me to import the old scores for our games? Does everyone need to start over? Ugh. Thanks!

Is it possible for you to restore the original ibproarcade you had installed? If so, uninstall vBArcade first...

Once ibproarcade is restored, install a fresh vbarcade on top of it (be sure to set vBArcade to use only best score) and use its import function to get all your games (be sure to check to include Scores with this process).

When all the games and scores are in, you can uninstall ibproarcade, including the gamedata folder - all the media assets will have been moved to the central vbarcade folder.

Any chance I can restore it under a different domain name and a migrate script can be written to migrate from that site to the live site? They would be on the same server. I don't want to start all over again on the vB4. The backups were for vB3 a couple days ago. Actually a command line migrate script would be helpful in general. I have over 4000 games and the migrate pages timed out on big numbers like 1000. I was able to sit here and do them 500 at a time which still took a while.

Well it needs both the tables (which look like games_*) from ibproarcade and the old /arcade/ folder. You can restore your backup to that domain, then selectively copy those tables/folder to your official domain.

Yes :) all games, scores, settings will be kept when upgrading to the pro version.

This worked great on vbulletin 4, then on the latest vb4 it stopped working.
So I uninstalled and deleted and re-added everything.
All games can be played, however when you go to submit score it gives 404, then reloads, saying currently playing game, forfeit.
Is there a fix, I tried everything else.

its a stylewar issue, you will need to set the stylevar colour for links for that mod

Search for them using Styles & Templates > Search in Templates

Not sure where they will be in your style templates but they are in additional.css in mine

The background colors are too contrasted. Do the tabs look the same on your profile pages?

I like the resize option-- I think that's enough for users to get by without the need for a full screen expansion.

You can set a Maximum Game Width in the vbarcade settings, precisely for that.

If it happens when vbarcade has been uninstalled, the error is not being caused by vbarcade.

I get this error when I try to manage games. I'm superadmin on this site.

OK when first installed and imported a few games all works good and have access to manage games. After I try and add games I have in a folder that came from the old arcade I get the ( Fatal error: [] operator not supported for strings in /home/spooky/public_html/admincp/arcade_admin.php on line 1111) error.
To add these games I point the import page to the .swf and 2 .gif's (thumbnail and image). Game installs and plays good just won't save.
Where would I find the .php's for the games? I have the .swf's amd image files. If I had the php's I would zip them and import them like that from a folder?

We have had 0 reports of broken .htaccess files as a result of having to perform this temporary change :)

I done exactly what it said in the readme file :) I'm not too fussed about the scores not coming over and neither are the members- just makes them play again :)

When I click on one of the menus such as "create new tournament" it shows the URL as it should :

But the page actually just looks the same as the homepage for the arcade. Same thing happens for all top menu items and submenus.

In theory, yes, but not all flash games will send scores.

There are a few game providers in the Lite version that has games that supports scores. vBArcade will do its best to support scores.

Found the fix on the vbulletin.com forums

Some further information on error displays in 4.2.2 ;

As part of the php compliance changes, error reporting in 4.2.2 was fixed to take account of the new strict & deprecated errors added in php 5.x
A side effect of this is that old (existing) errors that were not showing up may also now get displayed.

All of the errors we encounted during testing were corrected, but there may be more.
If you encounter such an error, then please log it in the vB4 Jira project, so we are aware of it.


If you need to disable error displays, there are several methods, depending on your circumstances and technical ability.

1. Add this line to your in your php.ini file (production sites should run like this anyway)

2. If you cannot access your php.ini file, add this line near the top of your config.php

ini_set('display_errors', 'Off');


3. Use the option added in 4.2.2 to suppress messages if you have products or hooks in use that still generate errors.

Goto : Settings > Options > Plugin/Hook System and then set the "PHP Compatability" setting to 'Yes'.

This will change the error reporting options within vBulletin on the first hook that is run.
If you have vBulletin Suite (i.e. Blogs / CMS) or you have the Panjo Product enabled, this setting will pretty much disable the Strict & Deprecated messages anywhere.
This is because all three of those products use the "init_startup" hook.

If you dont actually have any of those running, you can create a dummy plugin yourself - use the "init_startup" hook, and just put a comment in the php section.

This mod needs to have a horizontal game line up template as well. Those game blocks use up too much space when you have a fixed width website, and there is not enough room for an extra block. You end up with big gaps between the game blocks.

Horizontal layout similar to v3Arcade would have greatly contributed to solving the issue.

I purchased a full version and now am pondering on how to solve the gap issue.

It depends on what games you are using. If games don't submit scores as such then the system defaults to time played.

I only have a few currently: Chaplin Balance, Simon Says, Pac Man Advanced, Montris, Pixel Command -- all of which I downloaded the .zip from Mochi. Any helpful tips and tricks for a beginner with this mod are greatly appreciated.I don't know if .zip downloaded games will support scoring, I only know that the importing interface in the AdminCP that connects to Mochi will tell you if scoring is supported for that particular game.

For some reason, when I try to install vBArcade, I couldn't pass htaccess part of installation.

I uploaded all files, made three directories chmod 777 (needed to create temp one), and then I try to import xml.

I tried to upload files multiple time (just in case some file was missing), tried to change .htaccess line ending encoding (windows, linux) in case it couldn't be read properly (server is unix, this could be problem in some cases).

I'm trying to install it on my test server that has protection from access, I removed it temporarily to test if it causes problem with installation.

Nothing helps, installation asks that I add this code into htaccess and that's it:

EDIT: I also downloaded lite version from DBTech site, I see there's minor byte difference, didn't checked code to know what's different, but the result is the same.

Installation went smoothly as it can go. No problems with htaccess.

Ok, I thought it may solve problem with v2.0.2, reuploaded appropriate files, tried to import product, same error. So, problem is, at least on my setup in version 2.0.2.

I decided to test it further. I downloaded v2.0.1, reuploaded files, tried to import product, error. v2.0.1 doesn't work, at least for me.

And, finally, I downloaded v2.0.0, done what needs to be done, product was imported without any problems.

Now I'm on v2.0.0, it's on my test site, but I certainly have problems with versions v2.0.1 and v2.0.2. On the other hand, v1.3.0 and version v.2.0.0 works as it should. Maybe this info help you pinpoint where the error is.

Can I ask something though. i am trying to find where the game data is written to?
I have some users playing a game that builds up a cash amount (toss the turtle) but they by mistake reset it so I wanted to give them a lump sum to restart but cant find anywhere in the database that holds this. I looked in the dbarcade prefix tables but can only see scores in there.

Is there somewhere else game data is written to?

Using vB 4.1.10 and arcade v2.0.2 but I'm running into an issue at the moment where, when I click 'Begin Game Name' on the game's page, it loads my website within the .swf's frame and then reverts to the 'Begin Game Name' button. It also highlights your latest score at the bottom as if you just submitted it.

Anyone heard of this or know of a fix?

I see when you start a Moichi game in your arcade you get a notice that says Moichi Media is closing on March 31 and that the game has to be removed unless you have permission from the game developer. Probably doesn't matter if you do not have permission, the scores will not be recorded.

Problem with supporting new sites is,
1) You don't know how long that site will be around.
2) If there is not a API to get the games and save the scores, it is useless.
3) The sites are new, and you don't know how good their screening process is against exploits in them.

Best bet is to wait and see how the sites are time tested. :)

I uninstalled the arcade (thanks to Mochi shutting down and it barely being used on my site) via ACP, deleted (tried to) the files, and now instead of getting a 404 page when I visit the arcade I get a db error. I try to delete the folder /dbtech/arcade but it keeps reappearing? Permissions on the folder is 755.

Ok reinstalled and tried to uninstall again. Still keep having the /dbtech/vbarcade folder being recreated after deletion.

Steps taken:

1: Uninstalled arcade via plugins and products.
2: Removed all files that were uploaded (minues the self recreating /dbtech/vbarcade folder)
3: Erased the lines in .htaccess
4: ??? Did I miss something ???

I just checked and no arcade.php was not (oops) deleted. Deleted the file and we're no longer getting errors (yay), however when I delete the folder /dbtech/vbarcade/ it still recreates itself. I have never seen this happen before so I am at a loss as to why it's doing that :D

After they are installed... do I have to leave the files in the import folder or can I delete them?

Hello I just imported my v3arcade games and Mochi games into DBTech Arcade plugin that I have just installed. I am aware Mochi site is dead and I had to download as much good rated flash games as possible before the Mochi network got shutdown.

Some of my games are working fine, but I think those Mochi games doesn't work for some reason. I got this error regarding some of the Mochi games that doesn't work:-

I am not able to import the latest XML after updating the files.

I get a screen with the following:

# Place this code into the top of http://www.my-site.com/.htaccess so certain games can process scores, then try importing again:

There is nothing special listed after that, it's a blank after that comment, and then the rest of my existing .htaccess file.

I do have the the arcade's htaccess block in my file.

It doesn't matter if I give apache access to update my .htaccess or not.

Yes, that's the error I too receive and couldn't make this mod to work on my site.

For some reason, newer versions doesn't work even if htaccess is changed according to instructions. Further info on my experience you can read this post (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=2480533&postcount=371).

Either manually add the code to your forums .htaccess or chmod the .htaccess to 777, run the import again, then when its done change the .htaccess permissions back to what they were.

i am so confused about the permission setttings, so on default, you can set all groups to view it, then i set certain groups to None and set it as important to override the default, then i set the rest of the groups to able to play and set it as important, but how do i set them to record and score also ?

Change the setting to score.

Will this mod work with a windows based server?You will probably need to disable the .htaccess check in the installer and convert those rules to web.config files yourself, but other than that I believe so :)

Is the Arcade further supported?Depends what you mean by "further supported". Flash is being blocked in all browsers by default now, so we have no current plans to update this modification with new functionality.

Yes Flash is getting less and less. Only html5 games.

Wordpress z.b. There you can install html5 games.

Save them do not because they need to be re-adapted just like flash games.

Is there a way to display a different number of 'Most Trophies' compared to 'Longest Players' 'Latest Champions' and 'Latest Scores'? I'd like to display 5 of all, but more for Most Trophies as on our board we give credits at the end of the month to everyone depending on the number of their awards, and if just 5 are displayed, some remain without credits. Or is it possible to have 'Most Trophies' displayed on an individual page as the Leaderboard in ibPro Arcade?

Also, it is said in the main post 'Latest tournament shown on arcade portal' for the Lite version, but they don't show up.

How to ban users in arcade only? If I create additional usergroup and place the banned players there it won't work since their primary usergroups are still allowed in arcade.

Make it a primary usergroup then? We can't. Banned players belong to different primary usergroups. Merging them into one primary usergroup just to disallow them from arcade will mess their forum permissions.
