Don't send email notification even though user has Automatic subscription

I have one forum on our site that I don't want users to get email notifications for new posts/threads. I've disabled the subscription option in that specific forum so users can't subscribe, but users still get the emails if they've selected the Automatic thread subscription option in their User CP. Is there a way to stop the emails generated from just this one forum?
