I asked our members if they have trouble staying logged in as they navigate our site and here are their responses:

If I am at a specific forum thread and log in, when it takes me back to the forum, it does not show me as being logged in. If I go to the home page and clear my cookies, then I can go to the thread and I have no issues - it has me logged in. I think that immediately after I log in my cookies take me back to the page "pre-login". Does that makes sense? It's like I have to erase it's memory that I was ever there not logged in.

yes!!! OMG it is SO very frustrating. I had to log in three times last night to post one reply and then when I finally got there, my reply had posted twice.

Yes sir...BUT on Firefox at home...I use IE at work and it keeps me logged in

On internet explorer it wont log me in at all. Keeps saying im not logged in no matter how many times i do. And i am logged in at all times on firefox. which is frustrating if something is on facebook that interest me. Because facebook wont work on firefox but will internet explorer.. LOL double edge sword.
A quick point...we use networked blogs on facebook that randomly pull posts from our forum to facebook so our friends on facebook can be drawn into the site.

I have no problems on my personal home computer, but I can't stay logged in on my iphone. I click remember me, and if I leave it idle for 15-20 minutes I come back and I'm logged out, very frustrating!

I personally don't have any problems but my administrator said she is having problems on some computers at school. So I don't really know how to solve this or even where to start looking. Is it a cache problem?

in your vBulletin options, Cookie and HTTP Header Options, what are your settings for:
Path to Save Cookies
and
Cookie Domain?

Path to Save Cookies: /
Cookie Domain .weusecoupons.com

There is an option under the 'path to save cookies' that is /upload/ which is where are forum is located

The suggest setting is "blank" and nothing in the custom box (and the box not checked)... Do you know why you aren't using the suggested setting here?

Unless you had good reason I would use the suggested setting.

Changing this will probably mean everyone will have to re-login though.

we do have a homepage that currently uses CMPS, would that make a difference

in other words, users can login on our homepage, www.weusecoupons.com, and they should stay logged in when they hit the forum, www.weusecoupons.com/upload

It shouldn't make a difference, cookies are saved for domains, not directories.

Do you know why you didn't use the recommended cookie settings to begin with?
