I run a computing and overclocking forum and I'm looking to try something a little different for benchmarking and overclocking submissions.

I'm pretty sure what I want to do would normally be all possible with alot of template editing of the postbit and thread reply templates. However there are 2 things that I think will get in my way. 1, my thumbnail size setting and 2, I want to set this up on a forum id basis, so it will be custom done for a few forum ids without affecting the rest of the forum.

Here are some images of what I'm trying to do:

Here is what would be a modded version of the thread reply editor, to display custom input fields to the user. When they post, it would then be shown like this:

124202
Nothing too dramatic here, just displaying the custom input fields and field names as text on the post, and an uploaded image on the right.

Like I said earlier, this should all be possible with alot of template editing, however I dont want it affecting the whole forum. Perhaps I can have different forum ids switch to different themes and do it that way?

The only other thing that might be troublesome is my set thumbnail size, I want to display a larger thumbnail here than allowed in my vbulletin settings. Would it be possible to make exceptions for a specific forums?

I know this probably wont get any replies, but I thought I would check for some advice before I start investing hours into this anyway. Thanks in advance to anyone who does take the time to give me a tip or two.

I'll get started on this tomorrow morning, and keep the thread updated with my triumphs and failures in the minute hope that it will eventually help someone else.

Thanks for looking and thanks in advance for any help given.
