1.- How it works
Members having questions, are coming to your support department. They read your Frequence Asked Questions and if they don't solve their problem, they're opening a support ticket.
By opening a ticket, a copy is going to member, and a notification is going to technicians.
Technician reply to the question, eighter using a predefinied reply, or writing a fresh reply.
Technician has the ability to save his reply to predefinied ones, or, if he counts it as common question to add it to as many FAQ categories he wants.
Member gets the reply, and if he is not totally satisfied, he visits your site to continue the discussion and so on.
Member and/or Technician can close a ticket
Member and/or Technician can re-open a ticket2.- Frontend Features

F.A.Q listing
Live Support
Information Blocks:
Latest Questions
Important Questions 3.- Technician Features
Support Tickets List, which can be filtered by:
Department
Product
Status
Actions for each ticket:

Save reply in predefinied replies
Save reply in as many FAQ categories he wants.
Predefinied Replies (Add, Edit, Delete).

Departments. Per each department he can assign an unlimited amount of email addresses, which they will be inform when a new ticket is creating for this department, or when a reply comes from the Members.

Setup the text for the email to Member, upon a new reply from technician
Setup the text for the email to Member, upon ticket's auto close.

Fixed a problem with some styles as they were moving the headers and blocks to one side.
Upgrade for this is to just re-import the product.xml file with overwrite set to yes
This will only work with vbulletin version 4.0.x but not for vbulletin version 4.1.x

Not quite working!

This is the same mod as marias mod its just that i have now taken over the mod.
The reason i have started a new thread was that the only way i can get new files uploaded was to make a new post every time and these then would get lost and members would not know where to find the files to download.
Also i will be able to track problems and fix then as quickly as posible and inform you all.
Live support will only work when an adviser has logged into the live support page here
support.php?do=livesupport
Once they have logged in they then click on the button at the top CHAT ADVISER LOGIN
The adviser will need to keep this page open to be able to give live support

I will be adding in a popup version of the live support so that it will be a smaller window and easyer to keep open for the advisers.
There will be a comercial version coming out with alot more functions for the advisers and users.
As with the version thats on my site you will see that it shows the users online in a list.

Having already 2 surgeries this year, I'm feeling very weak to continue upgrading and supporting my mods here. Hello Michael,
Two things - I have set it up as per instructions and did the permissions for the advisor. BUT - when I loggin, I enter my details and it doesn't actually loogin - it still shows as no advisers online. I am now able to loggin, but when I refresh the page, it log me out and I have to sign in again, all the time.
Once you use the login, the next page says "Welcome to out live support" instead of "Welcome to our". How do I change that please?
I have a test ID and when I use this, even though I can see the form and am able to complete it, when I click on send, I get a "No Permission" message. permissions have been set up correctly for this.
I also see that on the support ticket - there is no anti spam (or Kapacha (sp?) anti-spam is selected in my AdminCP. Is it possible to add Kapacha(sp?) if the system is selected for "Not registered or logged in" people, please?

You cannot login twice with the same broswer as for the vb cookies try 2 diffarent broswers like firefox and IE one with test account other with adviser account

I will add this as an option but there is an anti spam filter built in.
Live support on/off line.
To add this to the main header of your site login to the admincp->Styles & Templates
and open the header template
This part it already put at the top on how to add this to all your forum pages

At this time you cannot change the images for this as they are hard coded into the swf file.
But this will be added to the commercial version where the admin will be able to use there own images.

This could be added but its not that inportent at the moment to add as members can make there own tickets.

Hi there and thankyou for voting for this to translate this is very simple login to your admincp->Languages & Phrases->Phrase manager
Phrase Type: choose microsupport and all the phrases are there for the support system.
Not work @ vBulletin 4.1.0 .

I will look into this but there should not be any problem as there are no code changes that vb has done that would change the way the support system works.
Please make sure you have setup the usergroup setting right as if they have no access then it will ask them to login or register.

There are some things im adding that are from the same system but its taking me some time to sort out some of these things.
Im also hopping to add a desk top ap for advisers to use with this system like kayako dose.

I can see the problem and yes vb has changed something thats made this happen.
I will make a fix for this very soon and will let you know.
There is no quick fix for this but i will get onto this today and let you know once i have sorted this out.

To be able to remove the copyright you will need to pay me for that from my site here

This will have some nice little addons for you so that you can change the look of the live support system.
Here are the new options for the admins.
Live Support System Settings

Please update the installation instructions to a more detailed one explaning the steps that should be followed for a complete installation without bugs or errors.
If sb has installed the previous version of MicroHellas what is he/she supposed to do to upgrade to your mod?

One suggestion about the Live Support is to have a Connect/Disconnect button available only for the groups set in AdminCP of microSupport.

... If a user pays for the "copyright removal", and I know this is seperate to that, but would be great if possible... Can that person have the choice to have a different file path?
What I mean is; where you have said "microsupport/images" in your post #23 above, can the user with purchased "Copyright removal" have the option to change "microsupport" to whatever he/she wishe? IE: suport/images or livesupport/images etc.

At the top it tells you most of what you need to do to set this up.
As for the other settings they have default settings and dont need to be changed unless you want to.
Also i have added descriptions to eash of the settings to tell you what they are for so setup should be easy.
To add this version of the support system to the one that you may have installed (I.E. the MicroHellas ) they are both the same systems its just i have now taken this over and had to open a new thread.
So upgrading from and old version of a mod is the same with this version of the mod.
Upload all files to forum root

I have two skins and both of them are not free, but I believe you can try any transparent (with background) style from this forum. I do not believe that I am allowed to post the skin names or the site here.

Have updated the file microsupport_com_463a_part1.zip
This has the fix for the style problems.
Just import the new product.xml file with overright set to yes
and all should be fine with your styles now.

I only seem to have 1 issue. The added live support image to top of support page will not change when I get online. I can login with a different user at another computer and it stays at Off Line.

Once logged into the live support system have you clicked the button at the top saying "Chat Adviser Login"
Within the live support system the on/off line images will only updates every 5 seconds
If you have the live support within the header that updates every 15 seconds.

There needs to be a way to reassign the ticket to a different department/product.
There needs to be a way to send a tech a private message as well as the email.
The department/products should have the ability to say "this department is handled by X" and have it instantly assigned to X (a technician).
Delete ticket should only be available based on the usergroup.

These things will be added but its going to take time as i have other mods to sort out as well.
I have just added within the new files the ability to add a forum block its all done for you, just import the new product.xml file and it will install the forum side block for you.

Am working on a new version that will be able to import the users style but may take some time to sort out.

There are only 2 logins one for the forums and one for the live support system other than that you dont need to login to the help desk for any thing else.

Please download all 3 zip files and upload to your forums root dir.

This has now been changed from the header to be placed within the forums side bar and at the side within the support system.
As you can see from the code at the top telling you how to place this within the header you can remove it from there and place it any where.
To save you from having to edit templates i added a sode bar that can be activated within the suspports settings.

From your image i cannot see alot there as its very small and not clear
As for the live support at the top of the page this has been removed within the new files and added to the forums side bar, so that no one needs to edit the templates.

As to remove the navbar helpdesk from the navbar its easy just login to admincp->plugins & products->plugin manager

Yes all 3 zip files need to be downloaded and uploaded to your forum
then just import the product xml file and set up the usergroups thats how easy it is to set this system up.

Im looking into the popup problem and will have a fix for this very soon thankyou for letting me know.
I do like the idea of having the pay staff member and will sort something out for this within the live support system.

the spam settings are already set for you but you can change them if needed.
The only changes are some updates to templates and some of the php files that have some bug fixes.

Yes at this time they would have to as it will not show the categories when you are in a category.
Lets say you have 100 categories and then you click to go into one of these categories you would still have the 100 categories showing and the questions within the category showing.
So this would not look very good with all this info in one place.

I understand what you mean about large numbers of categories and questions but I only have eight categories with about 4 questions in each so for me it would be ideal to show all the categories all the time.

Ok, It is a problem with your latest xml installer. I uninstalled and used the version from 12/9/10, and everything works fine.
This will be changed within the next release as im adding in a floating block.

you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

This problem you are talking about is fixed within the new version 4.6.4.
Versions 4.1.1 and upto 4.6.0 are not supported any more as its not version 4.6.4

Can you post this info? I really love this system but we have no need for live support. Id just like to have that live support icon in the upper right no longer show up.
I will add a read me file to next release letting members know how to remove the live support.

All my online/offline guy icons are not right. See attached pic. Why are they like this? They are suppose to have the Yellow writing in the middle of the picture. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, to no end.
How do I fix and what is causing this?
Also, How can I remove the Online/offline guy from the header? I want to delete it altogether. In IE, it is totally messed up.

I know this won't be ready for the next update, but can you create a "timeout" fuction on the live chat? I've got people who are lazy and don't click logout, so they stay logged in. Its missleading for people who are wanting to use that feature that needs help.

Actually I would not want the time out. Once I am logged in and on the site, I would not want to be timed out. tell your people to stop being so lazy. :)

I have reminded them to log back in and click the log out button, so it should help. But like I said, its misleading to people if no one really is there. Or maybe not a time out, but for the administrator to "force logout" people who are not there?

Your are right this does need something that can remove members that are not there.

So we have maybe 2 options

Installed, I see the logout this user but when I click, nothing happens. I log out, and reload and they disappear. So it works, but I was thinking of a more instantaneous removal, if possible.

Once the button to log a user out is click it does log them out right away.
This will show in the users online after 10 seconds as it takes that long before its updated.

Have you check the usergoup options as if they are set wrong you will not be able to post any new tickets.
Also make sure you have installed this latest version as there was a problem with this in older version of this support system.

No it does not fix the problem. Permissions in microSupport in admincp is set to 6,7 which is administrators & moderators for admin, but nothing to show permissions for what user groups can submit tickets. However, none of us can answer a ticket nor can users post new tickets now. We are using v4.0.8 vBulletin.
We do eventually want to go to your commercial version but before I can convince the owner to invest the money, we need this working.
Users, moderators and admins get this error message when they attempt to post a ticket or reply to one:
dmm2020, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
We started getting this error as soon as we upgraded the last update you posted. I am wondering though, did you change code to make it look at user permissions or group permissions? It should be on group permissions.

So if you try it within firefox or any other system it works or not.
Great mod,but it seems to have conflicts with the spamming configuration once disabled everything works fine.Maybe that needs looking at.One problem we have is it's pulling the original default header logo for some reason, we use concepta flash logo for the header but your mod seems to be pulling the default any ideas? other than that good job...

We've experienced a minor issue with the Live Support. When recieving a chat request from a user, you connect, but the rings will continue for up to 3 times till they stop. Then when chatting, on both ends you see a Server is Trying to Connect message, the messages go through but its quite annoying and doesn't look good. Any thoughts on how to fix?

I am having some issues with the emails being sent. Instead of going to the line, it actually write in the email body /r.
I like this mod a lot but there is definitely things that could be done to improve it and it would really be awesome.
Ophelia had some great suggestions and I agree with her that those things need to be added.
Along with what she said:
- Instead of having to enter each tech email for each category, being able to add them to each department. Maybe have a ladder: senior/junior tech etc. And then assign that whole group to one department.
- Option to list some of the FAQs under each category with "view all" or something.
- Email: maybe having a link to the support ticket in question in the email so people can click..or at the very list the title of it. This would be especially helpful for admins so they would at least know which one is being replied to.
- live support: I don't like it at all. It doesn't seem to flow with the rest of it. I think we should be able to choose the background by default and not allow users to change it. Also, we should be able to click on their username to pull up their profile during the chat. The whole live chat needs a lot of work.
- button to disable live chat all together.

I think this mod is one of the best. I would recommend you guys to send money donations. This mod works perfectly for me. You can ask and suggest for new features, but the time and energy is enormous, so be sure to donate money to the mod writer.

Michael the content box is still empty and no side bar blocks appears.
I added manually the phrase <return $support;> as an experimen to see if this will work and now the side bar looks ok. The Live support icon appears in side bar. I think you should take a llok because the block that is created automaically is a little faulty.

Question about file upload. The system allows the file to be chosen when opening a ticket, but I can't see to find the file, nor is it transferred during the email notification. This may be a VB setup option, but not sure. Directories have 777 permissions as requested.

I give good support for all my scripts as you can see here i answer almost every post made by members.
Yet no coder gets any thanks form people for the work thay do all you want is everything for free and most coders have commercial scripts they are working on and cannot give all there time for free versions.
As it stands for me as a coder i give 30% of my time for free scripts and 70% of my time for my paying members.
So dont come here and say that you are getting a bad service from any coder that gives you something for free,
Im not just sticking up for me as a coder but for all coders.
If you think you are not getting the right support or what you want with a free script then pay for it and you will get what you want.

Like I asked in private, there are 2 things holding me back
#1 There's no notice of a new ticket for the user or support that I can see (Except an email which I would like to turn off). There should be some popup or highlight or SOMETHING obvious to tell the user & techs they have new tickets that are waiting (Like a PM here).
#2 The other thing holding me back is live support shouldn't have to login everytime, it should capture the session in VB, otherwise I would use that feature

Please make sure you have uploaded all the files to the right place and rebuild the bitfilds and it should work fine as no one else has reported this problem.

in the commercial version you can turn on or off the live chat.
as for num 2 the tech can still view any ticket he/she wants.

When a member submits a ticket, I see it. I then reply to it but after I submit it, it disappears from view? Am I missing something?

when you click the tickets todo it will not show you tickets you have replyed to, you will need to change the Status filter to show the ones you want or just click the button filter to show all tickets.

Please make sure you have uploaded all the files to the right place and rebuild the bitfilds and it should work fine as no one else has reported this problem.
If you still cannot get this to work please feel free to pm me with your admincp and FTP login details and I'll sort this out for you.My members and moderators are getting this problem too. Also on 4.1.3. I get this problem as admin when I try to reply to a ticket, although I can at least get into the helpcentre.
I have checked and double checked permissions. They are all correct.

when going to the tickets todo list it will only show the tickets that have no replys to them.
Only when you click the filter will it show all tickets.

Thats a good idea to hot link to users profile will sort this out for the next release of the commercial version.
And to show who last replyed is a good idea as well.
To install the commercial version is easy just upload the files import the xml with overwrite set to yes.
The commercial version is an extention of the free version so it just upgrades.

Thanks for the kind words about this add-on but not all the credit can go to me as Maria did alot of this system i just updated it and added in a live support system.

Can you also add the ability for tickets to be publicly viewable. Maybe an ACP option for user groups OR maybe a simple check box some where visible on the page. My users tend to like to see if the issue has been reported and then make a note that they also have the same problem or see we are working on a resolution. Also they can view previous issues and or solutions figure out their issue on their own.

We're getting an error not having permission to view the page when submitting a ticket, (and the ticket isn't submitted), even when the usergroup permissions are set to "can submit ticket". This is on a vB 4.1.3 install.
Also there seems to be something strange with the live chat - it says all operators are busy, no matter how many are logged in. (It appears the system treats Technicians as regular users in need of support, not as Technicians...)
What are we doing wrong here? We've double- and triple-checked all settings again and again, but can't find anything amiss.
(PS. This is the same as Princesspepper posted about May 30, above.)

I'm sorry, but still no joy... We reinstalled microSupport completely, double-checked file locations and permissions, run buildbitfields, but still get a VB permission error when trying to submit a ticket. (Even when an admin does it.)
Also, the live support... isn't there supposed to be an option for Technichians to log in as Technichians? As it is, there is no such option we can find, so the live chat is always unavailable, because "all advisors are in chat".
I don't know if we're just dense, but both admins have long experience from vB admin and programming. Perhaps we're missing something obvious, but we've spent many hours trying to find the issue with no success. :confused:

To remove the live support from the header of your site follow these setps.

Is there a way of restyling this? I would prefer not to remove it, as it's pretty nifty, however at the moment it's portrait and it'd fit my forum style a lot better if I could make it landscape and re-position it.
I am fine with CSS, so if you can tell me if I can edit the templates and which ones, I'll take a look and post back if I'm successful :)

hi there sorry im not supporting this here any more as i dont have the time to keep checking differnent sites for posts.
i have alot of work on with the commercial versions and have to support them more as they are paying for the product.
as to your question you should not be able to submit a tickect without the title but it does happen, this is being fixed in the commercial version.

i can tell you this has nothing to do with the support system,
the only thing i can sugest is to reupload the vbulletin files as it looks like one file is missing or did not upload right.
also someone asked if this is supported here well i can tell you that there is very limited support for any of my free scripts released here.

Why invest time in using a mod, rely on its use and then find out it's not support in a new version of vbulletin?
I really honer developers of addons, have respect for their skills and devotion of helping others. But releasing a mod and then don't keep it updated with the releases of vbulletin is BAD. It's bad for the vb community.
Vbulletin should give a timespan for coders to update their addons to support (for example the 4.1.x series) within a month, and then move it to the graveyard. If this happens several times, these coders should be marked.
Don't want to sound harsh or disrespectful, but just like us (moderators/admins/owners of messageboards) you are obliged to commit yourself to the people that are depending on you.

Everyone here does everything for free, so pretty greedy imho to feel they are obliged to make sure your site can upgrade. If you don't have the PHP skills to make adjustments, but a mod means so much to you, then it's simple. Don't upgrade to the next generation of vB. Releases would be more of a ghost town then it already is if the staff ever agreed to your demands. Your type of attitude is why many already have stopped public releases.

This is because vB has removed this file from the distribution zip. The reason is that with the new editor this file is not in use anymore. There are 2 ways to correct it:

read the post Hostboard posted as its true the commercial version does support both editors.

This will work on VB 4.1.4 and older ONLY. If you are running a version of VB with the ckeditor (4.1.5+) you will need to purchase the commercial version.
