That is a game setting which you can individualy set for each game.

Image in game where one needs to be the fastest, there low should be on top.

In the acp - v3 arcade section - manage games (or similar) is an option.

Is it doing that for every game or do you mean it is saving some games scores this way?

Run the following database query. (myPhpAdmin)

UPDATE `v3arcade_games` SET isreverse = 0

It will set high scoring for all the games, however if there are some scores which require low scoring you will need to edit them manually (things like golf games and fastest time wins etc)

There is also an option when managing games AdminCP > v3 Arcade > Manage Games to set the scoring to either high or low for each game.

You can run these queries (phpMyAdmin), replacing X in each instance to whatever value you require. This will set the values for all installed games.

I'll see if I can add something to the Arcade Admin so mass changes can be applied.

I have a bug...

I've imported one of the games from the website (Mochi) and once I finished a game and showing up the highscore.. It goes to the next page, showing up an error that I don't have the access..

I'm an admin and I've set ALL my settings (usergroup settings) to yes.. Even the tournament ones. Even the game's highscores is enabled.

Make sure you've uploaded the crossdomain.xml file which is in the archive to your site root (ie where you uploaded the mochi.html file that is required to verify your site by Mochi)

You may also need to extend your Timeout Session so members aren't logged out during games. AdminCP > Settings > Options > Cookies and HTTP Header Options > Session Timeout. Also, is the 'Remember Me' box ticked when logging in.

At present the games are stored on your server. I don't know if this will change in the future, the developers did say somewhere down the line 'they would consider remotely hosting the games if there was enough demand'. However, hosting the games locally does mean youwill receive revenue from the ads that are displayed in the games (doesn't pay much dividends though)

Yeah that is the one downside of Mochi Games but a lot of sites require legal games and this was the best way to go, of course you can still run IPB type games

I'm not really a fan of the tournament system, partly for the reason you state and also most people sign up then forget or you get x amount signed up but still need slots to fill so sometimes the tournament never sees the light of day. I tend just to play one-off challenges - which I think is a much better system

i have a problem with one particular game where it doesn't show the highscores in the "arcade.php?do=scores&gameid=" part. I checked in the database, everything is saved correctly. And the game does know which score is the highest and which user is ranked one.

But in arcade.php line 2648 onwords the $score query fails. I threw in some var_dumps and echos to compare it with other games, where it does work and found only one difference:
in this query:

I confirmed it by manually changeing the score via phpmyadmin to '1618.000' and now that score does show up in the highscore list.

Any idea how i can fix that issue, so that this game has a highscorelist?

I know the new thread/post on highscore is in the next arcade release and with some other features but I don't know when that will be released.

For any other features, I'd suggest posting a thread over on v3arcade.com so the developers can consider any new features.

Definitely possible, but again I'd advise you to give the developers some feedback and suggestions.

Hi Gemma I have a specific issue with permission and wondering if you may be able to give me a work around.

I have custom usergroups set up for things like rosters and a mentor system. I have to have members in the mentor usergroup set as "primary users". I only allow, for the time being, premium members access to the arcade and all premium members are set as "additional users".

These permission settings work well except for the "primary users" of any custom usergroups. The permissions get overriden by the custom usergroup even though the permium is set as an additional user. This works fine with vbulletins default usergroups however.

I was afraid that may happen, it is a bit of a unique issue.;)

In "Usergroup Manager" you have default usergroups and custom usergroups.
Basically if someone is a primary user of a default usergroup with premium as their additional they have access to the arcade but if they are a primary user of a custom usergroup with premium as their additional they do not have access. The permissions are not recognized.

For example; Joe Blow signs up to the site and is now a "registered user" he purchases a premium membership and "permium" is added as an additional user. He now has access to the arcade. But if he is moved to Senior NCM as his primary but still has premium as additional he no longer has permission and gets an error.

Try changing the stylevar tabslight_selected_background - not sure if that will help you with what you are trying to do though because the tabs for the arcade and MEMBERINFO use the same css.

To get around it, you may need to rename the tabslight class in the v3ARCADE_MAIN, make a copy of the code in vbulletin.css that I mentioned then rename the instances of tabslight to whatever you call the new class in v3ARCADE_MAIN - for example if you renamed the class as <dl class="arcade_tabslight">, you would make an exact copy of the code under /* LIGHT-TABS */ in vbulletin.css but change all the tabslight to arcade_tabslight.

All I can suggest is posting on v3arcade.com and one of the developers should be able to help you - it shouldn't take any more than adding some OR statements to conditionals in the arcade.php file.

I actually had all 3 arcades running at one point on a test site but there were too many clashes. So I stuck with the one I deem to be the best ;)

You can run both IPBA and v3A together but you would need to make files changes to either the IPBA files or the v3A files; changing reference to arcade.php and /arcade/ to something else - most people changing the IPBA files would change all references to ibproarcade.php and /ibproarcade/ (if I remember correctly if you are editing the v3A files you only need to change references to arcade.php to something like v3arcade.php and can leave the folder as /arcade/)

Even then you might run into problems.

The arcade folder for v3A is only used to store gamedata folders from IPB type games.

Upgrading your forum software shouldn't have any effect on the arcade as the only file that may need to be edited is your index.php file

I need the edit code for the index file for CMS so that my scores will submit. What I said was, include that in the file that comes with the download of the arcade. Add the code to the readme file. Now, I cannot upgrade my forum to 4.1.10 because v3arcade site is down and I cant get to the code to do the edit on the index file. If that code was on the readme file I would be good to go.

An .htaccess file on the server that was for another arcade, it was pointing the game loads to a different location. I guess the original admin moved some things around.

Since the scores submit in other browsers and submit for other members it must be a configuration problem with your browser which is almost impossible for me to replicate.

Do any Mochi scores submit for you using Chrome? A lot of times the error with numbers appears at the top of the screen if you use the broswer back button to replay the game after submitting, or use the back button feature in v3 Arcade (this button will be removed from the next arcade build due to this problem).

- Admin 'Tuti' can't submit high score

On FF:
- all accounts working fine, 'Tuti' too.

I've never heard of anyone making any money using Mochi ads, myself included and I've run dedicated Arcade sites for years with them on.

You only get paid for the click through,and not many users these days will fall for that old chestnut.

Game developers for Mochi Games also receive a cut from the ads sponsors on their games. Mochi in effect don't pay anything out,and never broadcast how much they do pay out to developers.Reason being it's peanuts.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page, newly installed games are all in the 'Other' category by default.

Your arcade isn't visible to guests so can't help much more without any details.

Sorry, you need to speak English on here :)

All IPB games come as tar files, you upload them the your AdminCP > Games folder as tar files and they unpack automatically when you install them.

Basically, don't unzip/unrar the files before uploading, you want this format for each game file - game_gamename.tar

Any v3 Arcade game that you find will be a gamename.zip file (only IPB games use .tar files) and Mochi games can be imported directly from your AdminCP or added via the MochiMedia.com site.

Also, it is against vB.org site rules to post links to games sites so can't link you to any but doing a google search for IPBProArcade Games should get you a decent list to start.

Then fill in the last couple of details.

Firstly you would need to know if the .swf had been decompiled and altered to allow submission of scores to either v3arcade or IPB Arcade, unaltered .swf won't record scores. Mochi games can be uploaded using the exact same process.

*Can't post any sites where you can obtain IPB games on vbulletin.org because it is against their site rules but a simple Google search should give you plenty of sites.

Also, did you CHMOD 777 the correct folders?

For Mochi games to submit scores you will need to place the crossdomain.xml in your site root; not your forum root. Also, you will need to make sure games are leaderboard enabled games so that scores can be submitted.

Here's a quick tip for anyone moving to v3 Arcade from DBTech Arcade.......

My online activity is minimal at best just now but I've had a few PMs from people over on vbulletin.org asking for arcade assistance. Several of those seeking assistance were moving from DBTech Arcade to v3 Arcade but were experiencing errors submitting scores to games.

If you are making the move from said arcade to v3 Arcade make sure you remove the .htaccess rules that you needed to apply when installing their arcade or the scores will not submit.

Just a heads up because this was the issue with at least 4 users who PM'd me.

When playing a game you are effectively 'idle' in other forum activity.

Increasing your Session Timeout and making sure the 'Remember Me' box (there are plugins which do this) is ticked when logging in should solve any problems.

For Mochi games to submit scores you will need to place the crossdomain.xml in your site root; not your forum root. Also, you will need to make sure games are leaderboard enabled games so that scores can be submitted.

From the shot you've posted I'm guessing that is the content when hovering over the multi-crown icon. Can you post a screenshot of your full postbit?

It is against vbulletin.org site rules to post direct links to arcade game download sites but you'll find a plethora of sites by typing ibproarcade games into any search engine.

Also, you can use games from mochimedia.com - if you go down that route you will need to setup a Mochi account and add some details to your v3 Arcade settings. There is a guide on how to do this here - http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46531

Open index.php and do the following edit.

Find:
require('content.php');

Add above:
require_once('./includes/v3arcade_vbsuite_index_compatibility.php');

Save and upload. Close all of your browsers and restart.

For those who are using vBadvanced CMPS and are using it in the same folder as vBulletin and are using the vBa CMPS script as their 'index.php' file instead of the default 'index.php' file

Look for.
require_once('./global.php');

and immediately *AFTER* it add:
require_once('./includes/v3arcade_vbsuite_index_compatibility.php');

Save and upload. Close all of your browsers and restart.

Been testing this out on the upcoming vBulletin release (4.1.12). Works without any problems. Only thing I would remind people of doing is re-applying the edit to your index.php if you are running either vBulletin CMS or vBAdvanced CMPS once you upgrade so that scores for IPB games continue to submit

You should be able to see and play the game as an administrator (useful for testing purposes) but regular users shouldn't see or have access to the game, even if they have the game url it should show an 'Invalid Game Specified' message when trying to access it.

What I'm wanting to do is to show stuff *outside* of the forum directory. For example, let's say my arcade is in mydomain.com/forum/arcade.php

I want to be able to break the info I mentioned out of the forum folder and put things in other parts of the site that aren't in the vb folder to draw people in. Places like

mydomain.com/index.php or mydomain.com/otherstuff/index.htm

In a perfect world, there would be one global plugin or product that would allow all vbulletin goodies to roam free outside of the vbulletin directory. However, that doesn't seem likely, but I've seen a few mods here and there that allow interesting info to be displayed outside the "fence" of the vbulletin directory, and was hoping the v3arcade had some.

Other than the forum sideblock there isn't anything like that in existence. I like that idea about the tournaments block, I did have a similar idea for tournament information being added to the forum/CMS block but never got around to investigating more. Maybe when I've got some free time and some motivation I'll play around and see what transpires

And replace:

Been doing some testing, v3 Arcade together with vB 4.2.0 (beta) work fine.

The index.php file has changed meaning that anyone running vB Suite and IPB games will need to make a small adjustment to where they place the index.php file edit.

require('content.php'); no longer exists but placing the edit above require('forum.php'); will allow the scores to save properly*

*This may change come the 'gold' release of vB 4.2.0 and any update from the arcade team @ vBAdvanced but it works without error just now.

Changes will need to be made to accommodate the new navigation system too

1. Disable the plugin - Arcade Navbar Link
2. In the new Navigation Manager, create an Arcade Tab

Tab Script(s): arcade

3. Now we will create an Arcade Games Link

It uses vbulletin's built-in permission system and error messages, so you would either need to either create a new error message phrase in the AdminCP and have reference to it in arcade.php where you would like it to appear.

Or, an easier method would be to use conditionals and create your own message within the template. For example, in your v3ARCADE_PLAY template search for:

So we've had our arcade disabled since February 27th because of the whole exploit thing.

We still have version 2.0.3, the bad version, and the download that's available here is 2.0.3, so where can the patch be found?

I'd like to know so I can direct our owner here so we can get our arcade back up and running!

v3 Arcade has never had any security issues, so you don't have a 'bad version' and you haven't disabled this arcade 'because of the whole exploit thing'. The version here is the latest version (2.0.3A)

Sorry, wrong thread. Just found (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=279245) what I was looking for.

So, wait, our arcade has been the OP's here the whole time if it's 2.0.3? I guess we had a different arcade than KH-Vids.Net Forum.

There is a problem, though.

When trying to access any of its settings in the Admin CP, I get a 404 error page.

I can't seem to find a fix for after you submit your score it exits the game and goes to a comment, I'd like to continue the game, how can I stop it from leaving the page.

I don't think that is possible the way the arcade is coded, it would require changes to the files and templates, I'd assume you would need to remove the comments code, the current re-direction to the highscore submit/comments page and have the scores submitted 'on the fly' (probably using ajax) then adjust the templates :erm:

Doesn't really matter to me, I'm nothing to do with the arcade any more but if I see a post I can help with or offer a solution for then I'll try and reply when I'm online. If you are after a reply from the developers then I'd suggest the vBAdvanced forums.

So since I upgraded to Version 4.2, Whenever you complete a game.. it automatically forwards the user to the Activity Stream page and not the score page. Anyone else have this issue?
