Subject says it all ;)

This is basically a workaround for VBIV-9907 (http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBIV-9907)

Note
If you are using custom code/Add-ons to display avatars on search results pages this Add-on might cause side-effects.

Not applicable to vB3, I'm assuming?

Right, this mod is for 4.0.8, but my question was asking whether or not such a redundancy might also exist in vB3 (doesn't sound like it).

this is nice
i like all mods that make forum run fast and reduce server load in any way

This will also work on 4.0.6/4.0.7 as the same code is in those, too.

What about 4.0.2?

I have no idea as I only have 4.0.6 running myself, but did check 4.0.7, too.

Not applicable, the code that causes the unnecessary queries was introduced in 4.0.4

I'm using 4.04pl1, so this would work for me?

Ok, I installed it and ran a search ... :)

Nothing blew up, but quite frankly, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be seeing as a difference, if anything as I don't know what to specifically test. :D

Badger

You will see less queries run for searches.

looks like it's scheduled to be fixed in 4.2

I'm still using this in 4.1 PL2

No errors, no problems

The patch adresses a lot more issues than just thise one and significantly reduces the amout of queries for searches.

Can we just download the .XML and apply this on 4.1.2 or do we have to still use the manual diff file method?

Un-installed.

4.1.8 fixes everything that this modification resolved.

But I would like to thank the developer for having this out 1 year before vBulletin patched it. :)
