Welcome Email delay?

Is there a way that I could delay the welcome email in 3.8.6 by 2 days? instead of it sending out immediately, it would send the mail in 2 days from the time of registration.

There's no easy way of doing this, it would be a substantial modification- new database tables, cron jobs, etc...

Yikes, yeah I doubt my client will want to go through all that for it, I'll let her know. Thanks.
