How to integrate into the What's New section?

Are there any sorts of guides on this? I want to be able to integrate my media library mod into this system.

I have not seen a guide however I do know from tinkering with the Facebook commenting thingy-ma-bob (laugh at me for forgetting the correct terminology :p) that the What's New Tab uses the search so you'll need to register/preregister everything in relation to that, check the search_resultlist template for hook names and locations if I remember correctly that's the template to modify :D.
