Since the developer is listed as still being around, why don't you just PM him? You need to find out why it's in the graveyard anyway, and maybe get his permission to reuse the code if you want to pay someone to resurrect it.

I haven't noticed any other slideshow mods. What I want is Flickr (etc.) embedding.
