It will depend on the modification you are installing. Please follow installation instructions or ask in the thread of the modification.

ya their are different types of mods. Some mods have lots of files. Others have only one.

If the mod has images or php files they have to be uploaded to the server.

Mosts mods contain files that have an xml extension. These need to be imported and added through the Admin Control Panel ACP

To do this go to ACP >> Plugins & Products >> Manage Products >> [Add/Import Product] >> then chose the file and click Import.

Sometimes you'll have to go ACP >> Plugins & Products >> Plugin Manager >> [Add New Plugin]
but these instructions are included in the downloads.

As said earlier your better off asking in the modification thread as we're not sure here what type of mod it is your trying to install.
