i get a load of errors when trying to update manually from scheduled tasks

I had to make significant changes to the way I parse the gamercards that should be more reliable and easier to fix. It is now using the DOMDocument class, in particular DOMDocument::loadHTMLFile (http://www.php.net/manual/en/domdocument.loadhtmlfile.php), which honestly, I do not know a ton about but it made things a lot easier, but I'm pretty sure it makes the mod now require PHP5.

If it becomes to much of an issue I will have to try and get the old way to work, but after spending all day on it yesterday and getting two friends to help we could not get the old way to work for some reason.

I managed to fix if my running the task manually and removing the ones that gave errors back
, the majority of people put "N/A" or "none" also had a few website addresses in the gamertag field for some users from bot's i presume?

I have a valid vb4 license, i can set up a fresh forum on my site and give you admin access for testing purposes if you want?

It will be an empty forum with no users, you'd probably need to create a few users to do your tests, let me know if you want it and i'll set it up for you

How often should the leaderboard update?

It appeared to work at first with people who already had there gamercards in there profile from before we upgraded to VB 4, some people then added there gamercards which worked too.

However more people have added there gamercards and it just doesn't appear to update anymore, well if it does then its not done so in the last 16 hours.

Usually updates once per day, so around 24 hours. Give it time, it will update.

Actually the leaderboard does, but the stats never update. I still only show 10 users on a game that we do a league for that has 30 people in it. lol

I just uninstall & reinstall every so often to get a fresh listing. (or just update, if there is one)


Also there is still a "Reputation" column on mine, is that right.?
Probably because i never delete from server. (just re-upload xml)

Anything i can put in the code to replace this, so it doesn't mis-align the top menu.?

Did you FTP into your server and check the date time stamp on the files to see if they matched the last time you loaded them up? Mine wasn't working either until I discovered they didn't overwrite. I went in a deleted all the gXboxLive non graphic files and reloaded. After that it started working for me and I am on 4.1.3

Yea thats what i do, & it reloads the leaderboard great, all up to date, etc.. but the stats will always be whatever it is when you re-upload it.. they never change after that. The stats are always the same, unless you upload it again. (re-install).

Thats why i re-upload this mod every month or so to get a fresh count in the stats. :D

I dont think any of my members view the actual leaderboard.. its just nice to see how many active members are playing which games in the stats. (at the bottom of forumhome)

I changed my gamertag yesterday, the cron ran at midnight and it updated my gamertag when I looked this morning. If you want PM me your board and I'll sign up just to see if it works.

Unfortunately it is not possible, as Sony does not have an API available to obtain the data from.

BUT.... all posts are empty in the forum when the mod is active. You can see the threadlist, but when you open a thread, the page is completely white. Disabling the plugin will return everything to a normal state.

It's beacuse the user has used ' in his/her gamertag. The gamertag is: I don't have an Xbox Console.
Use regex in first post to don't let users type an invalid string in your gamertag field.
Regular Expression: ^([A-Za-z0-9 ]+)?$ (regex not required)

Using quotation mark caused the above DB error. But if you have different db errors you should check their error messages or at least copy them here in order to people help you.

This mod runs schedule task every minute in default install so if you have only one user problem then you get 60 db errors in 1 hour!!

Great mod. Starting giving me a few issues when I upgraded vB to 4.1.2, but I am going to apply the latest version of this mod and see if that clears up the issues. On vB 4.1.4 now.

What version of Vbulletin are you using? I am using Vbulletin VB 4.15 and do not have that issue... Make sure you have all the correct files and make sure you are not running the older version as I uploaded it once by mistake and had a lot of conflicting issues...

But that also looks like a host error... I could be wrong.

There were a couple of template issues which i've resolved. In the main template (even after revert) the Reputation header was not like the others, it was unformatted, and wasn't able to sort in order etc.

You had the Reputation code as:

So i changed it to:

It needed the blockhead tag to make it appear like the others.


The only thing on mine I haven't got to work is that the reputation comes up as a number, i.e. 20 not the stars image. Haven't figured that one out yet.
Ignore that about the stars, they are gradually appearing as it updates. :up:

Tried that, didn't work.

It won't add new users and it won't adjust the leaderboard but if someone on the leaderboard deletes their gamertag info then they'll disappear from the leaderboard, but it won't put anyone else on in thier place.

EDITED: I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it. It "appears" to be working as it now has the new people listed but I won't know if its actually ranking them until someones points change.

I got a PM to share my fixes for this mod from Hippy. All my fixes are in the thread somewhere - not sure if there is some other fix you are talking about if not one of those.

Reputation, as far as I know, does not work anymore with this mod after Microsoft changed this information on the xbox live cards. Perhaps it still works, but I just have it removed from my templates.

As far as updating problem goes, I have not noticed any problems with the script updating the database. Although, I suppose it is a little slow at times, but that might because I have 2500+ people on my gxboxlive list, and it only seems to do a handful at a time when it does the updates.

If your images are not showing when you hover over links, you might have some other javascript that is conflicting with this causing it not to work. Quickest way to test is to make a new style, which should be the default vbulletin style and see if the problem is still there.

If I am not mistaken the old gamercards from Microsoft had values to go along with the reputation stars in the source code. Now they just have the images.

I may be wrong on this, as it has been a while.

The code posted by Hippy is to fix gbxl_top_games template but you need to put

into gxbl_bit_game if you use the _top_games code the icons come out to big. This code keeps the Icons there original size

I don't think Cledus did anything to his alignment in the columns, as the main difference between your site and Cledus's site is that Cledus has a fixed width site whereas yours is fluid. This means yours stretches across the page so the columns will spread but on Cledus's it is more squashed up and therefore the alignment looks as if it's more lined up when in reality it's not.

I noticed on some others that some last played games icons disappear, like mine for example: http://www.gamerperfection.com/gxboxlive.php they come and go randomly. Why is this? Does the Mod need a fix to stop this?

field5 was an example just make sure your not using that field for anything else...


Also check make sure the gXboxLive Info Update is checked!

Scheduled Tasks -
Scheduled Task Manager -

gXboxLive Info Update
This task automatically updates the gXboxLive Leaderboard.

You can even force it to check but make sure your xbox user name is correctly spelled...

Check your Xbox account online make sure you allow your stats to be shown.. A recent update for some had blocked some information from being shown...

Also too if your Xbox user name is set to child not adult that could be why... If that is it your going to have to submit something to Microsoft to get the parental stuff removed otherwise your stats will not show publicly...

Probably not working because you are using | in your gamertag, if you try YG | Andy in a few gamertag creating sites on the internet they all throw up errors.

Still wanting this on my forum. So I tried it again...
When running the task manually I get:

The Gamertag is real and exists. When I open the url, the gamercard is displayed.

you need to put the "gxboxlive" images in those styles dir's like you did the default style..

default > \images\misc\gxboxlive
other styles have there own misc folder

example

images\darkness\misc\gxboxlive

etc
or

Dude, the last games link issue is so simple.

Firstly you should notice when clicking one of the images it will try and open a link like this:

http://live.xbox.comhttp//live.xbox.com/en-US/Activity/Details?titleId=1480659447&compareTo=THE%20M1NT

I bolded the problem part of the link.

All I did was search in templates for live.xbox.com, then opened up gxbl_bit_game and found this code:

All I did then was remove the http://live.xbox.com and then it worked fine.

hippy not sure if you last response was to me, what i was looking for was the ability display the gamercard info on the postbit_legacy template like the 3.x version used to have.

I also like the person before me applied all the fixed and the rep still shows blank, the mouse over i did fix but when I imported the updated product xml it removed that change and i didn't bother to put it back yet.
