Include "whos online" counter in sub folder.

I'm trying to only include the counter for whos online

so if my forums are in /forums/

I want to put a peace of code in "/" to only count the visitors then display it on the regular whos online function on /forums/

I'm trying to do so without including /globle.php to save on performance.
